When I first signed up for Birchbox back in April, I was madly excited for the May box which was set to feature chic samples based off one of my guilty pleasures, Gossip Girl. Unfortunately, my box wasn’t all that great. But this month’s?? Total winner!
Hands down the most exciting item in the box! I received a full size Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner with the most awesome tip. It looks like it’ll create the perfect line with ease. I’ve never used anything from this brand but I have seen the line before in Sephora so I’m pretty excited to try it out. It retails for $15 so this box was definitely worth it!
I wouldn’t pay the full $22 for a bottle of rose water but thank goodness the Melvita Rose Floral Water was included in my box! It’s totally organic and rose water has many great uses for both skin and hair. I’ve been meaning to pick some up for months so I’m glad I get to actually try it first. It smells heavenly and felt so refreshing on my hand. I’m gonna use it as a toner for my face and moisturizing mist for my hair.
This was another pretty exciting product! I received The Balm’s Stainiac lip and cheek stain in Beauty Queen. Beauty Queen is a gorgeous deep berry color that would look flattering on all tones. Because of the texture and doe foot applicator I’m not sure I’d actually use this on my cheeks. This stain retails for $17 and I believe this is the full size as well.
I also received a tiny little bottle of Yu-Be moisturizing skin cream. It’s really thick and does leave my skin feeling soft and supple but it has a really strong menthol smell. I think I’ll just use this on my feet.
Birchbox also included two extras this month! I received a super cute box of Cynthia Rowley designed patterned band aids. Guess now I can get hurt in style lol. They also included a very seductive smelling John Varvatos cologne sample in honor of Fathers Day. My dad isn’t into colognes so I’ll probably pass this along to my boyfriend. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this box. I’m glad I stuck it out because I planned on canceling this month. Hope next month’s will be a success too!
