Skincare Routine

This is a post that is long overdue! A few people have asked me about my skincare routine and I’m ready to let you guys know how I take care of my skin on a daily basis. I don’t have any problems with acne and blemishes but I do have very sensitive skin that is prone to small breakouts. Because of this I’m pretty leery to try new skincare products so I take a more natural approach to skincare. I use the oil cleansing method to keep my skin clean and clear and I just love it!
I have very dry skin so some facial cleansers really dry my skin out and strips away my natural oils. Using olive oil and castor oil not only removes my makeup but it dissolves dirt and oil as well. Not to mention that it’s a very quick and easy method! You’ll need two oils. First, you’ll need castor oil as your base. It works very well at cleansing the skin but it can be a bit harsh when used alone which is why a carrier oil is also needed. I chose olive oil to pair with it because it’s an excellent moisturizer for dry skin and a great makeup remover. Together, the combination cleans my face very well and doesn’t leave my face feeling tight and dry afterwards.

I like to follow up with my Josie Maran argan oil I received in my January Ipsy glam bag. Argan oil is extremely moisturizing and it soaks into the skin so quickly. Because it’s so thick and hydrating it’s the perfect winter moisturizer for me. My face feels like silk the moment I apply it! If you’ve been thinking to taking a natural approach to your skincare routine as well I totally recommend taking the leap! It’s cheaper than buying pricey cleansers, creams and serums and it lasts much longer. You can never go wrong with a good natural remedy!
