MAC Fixed On Drama Retro Matte Lipstick Review

Doesn’t it just feel like fall already? It’s already starting to cool down here in Michigan and MAC’s Retro Matte collection has me ready for dark vampy lips! Fixed On Drama has quickly become my favorite fall lippie. It’s so sexy!

Fixed On Drama is described as a rich wine but it’s more of a deep brown tone red. I was hoping for more of a berry undertone but I can’t say I’m disappointed with the color. I’ve paired it with Magenta, Silly and Embrace Me lip liners and loved the results! Purple liners like Magenta (Heroine or Fashion Boost works too) gives it a deep berry look while pink liners emphasize that wine undertone. Fixed On Drama is the darkest shade in the Retro Matte collection so it wears a lot better than shades like Steady Going. There’s very little feathering and it doesn’t emphasize dryness much but it goes on a little uneven without a liner. It also doesn’t glide on as easily as other lipsticks but I don’t get any tugging or pulling during application.

I’ve mentioned before that the retro matte formula is pretty long lasting and Fixed On Drama is no different. I get over 6 hours of wear before it begins fading. It does leave a stain behind once it wears off so you still won’t have to touch up anytime soon. Of course, Fixed On Drama is a little on the dry side due to the extreme matte finish but prepping with a lip balm works wonders for me. This lipstick will definitely be getting a lot of love this month! Head to your local MAC, Nordstrom, Macy’s, etc to check it out! And it IS permanent ladies!! I was able to Back 2 MAC for it at my local counter. Happy hauling!
