It’s a party ladies! A Private Party! The MAC Divine Night collection is still pretty fresh but this beauty is already sold out online at MAC. Not very surprising considering it’s in limited edition packaging and just about every gal loves purple lippies, right? I definitely couldn’t resist picking one up! Check it out!
Private Party is mid-tone plummy mauve on me but I’ve seen it pull more berry on lighter complexions. You definitely want to check this out in stores! The shade is perfect for fall and it’s very comfortable to wear. It seems MAC has really improved the satin formula because Private Party isn’t at all drying or waxy feeling like a few other satin lipsticks I own. It glides on very smoothly and feels pretty creamy upon application. Once it sets, you’re left with a semi matte finish that wears for about 4-5 hours. It’s not hydrating but it’s not drying at all. The pigmentation is pretty good as well. I have pretty pigmented lips and Private Party only takes one swipe for opacity. I do love to layer for more intensity though!
While Private Party is a pleasure to have in my collection it’s a pretty dupable shade and the slightly higher price tag ($16.50) is a bit off putting. I fully understand the extra $1.50 for limited edition packaging but Divine Night came to this Private Party a bit under dressed. Lol I couldn’t help it! But seriously though. They could’ve done a little more than just gold accents which many have pointed out looks like Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks. Last year’s holiday collection, Glamour Daze, had simple packaging at well but it was better than this. Anywho, Private Party really is a nice lipstick and I recommend it to all lippie lovers! Don’t let my love for gorgeous packaging sway you from checking out an overall good lipstick. Rihanna has me a little spoiled lately!
