NARS One Night Stand Blush Palette Swatches & First Impressions

Oh how long I’ve waited for you! NARS has released many blush palettes but very few quite like One Night Stand. I was a bit late venturing into the makeup world so I missed out on it’s sister palettes Danmari and Joie de Vivre and there was no way I was missing out on this beauty! Does it live up to the hype? Check it out!

The limited edition One Night Stand comes in the standard rubbery matte black packaging but features a red streak of paint and Guy Bourdin, the inspiration of the collection. Inside there’s five blushes and a bronzer. The pans are a pretty decent size (0.14oz) and everything looks beautiful.

Devotee Highlighting Blush and Laguna Bronzer

Devotee is a cool pinky champagne with tons of fine shimmer. It’s very frosty so I would stick with a duo fiber brush and use with a light hand. When applied lightly, it is quite beautiful! I wasn’t expecting to like it at all but I think I’ll get pretty good use out of it.

Laguna is more of a subtle golden highlight on me rather than a “bronzer”. While Laguna is really pretty (especially paired blush) NARS makes it so hard to like because it makes an appearance in a lot of cheek palettes. Luckily, I only have one other Laguna in my stash (which I’m selling if anyone is interested!) but it always seems to rear its head. I do like it but I happen to be more of a Casino fan.

Mistinguette and Deep Throat Blush

Mistinguette is a bright cool pinky lavender blush that would probably look lovely on fair to medium skin tones. It doesn’t play well with women of color. It looked pretty white and ashy on me once blended which is disappointing because I just love the color! I was messing around with my NYX Tea Rose stick cream blush and patted Mistinguette over it out of curiosity. It brightened the color a little and gave it a matte powder finish. I really liked it! I still wish it worked well alone.

Deep Throat isn’t a favorite of mine. I tried it back when I hauled the Voulez Vous palette and didn’t like it. I still don’t like it. It’s very sheer and much too subtle for my liking.

Orgasm and Goulou Blush

Orgasm is a really, really beautiful peachy gold highlight on me. But I’m sick of seeing it. Orgasm makes it’s way into like every NARS palette. I have 3 pans of it including this one. I hope NARS starts switching things up a bit.

Goulou is definitely my favorite! It’s a warm rosy pink with a slight brown undertone that’s just perfect for fall. It looks matte in the pan but it has a faint golden glow that’s just lovely. I paired it with Devotee and loved how beautiful they looked together!

Devotee, Mistinguette, Orgasm, Laguna, Deep Throat and Goulou

If you’re new to NARS or don’t mind backups then One Night Stand would be a great buy. The limited edition shades (Devotee, Mistinguette and Goulou) are beautiful even though Mistinguette didn’t really work for me. I think ladies with lighter complexions will get great use out of One Night Stand. Darker gals like me can safely pass. Especially if you own any of the permanent shades. I’m swimming in Lagunas with a couple of Deep Throats and some Orgasms but it’s not half as fun as it sounds. I’d rather have Danmari or Joie de Vivre!

One Night Stand is a Sephora exclusive and is available online now for $65. It’s been reported that Sephora stores will carry the palette starting November 1st but it says online only at the moment. If you have your eye on this beauty haul it soon before it sells out!
