MAC 128 Split Fibre Cheek Brush Review

The MAC 128 Split Fibre Cheek Brush is definitely the most bizarre looking brush I’ve ever tried but it works so well! I wish I would have started using it sooner because it’s so unique. Check it out!

Essentially, it’s a duo fiber brush but it looks and performs differently from traditional duo fiber brushes. Half of the brush is made with synthetic fibers while the other half is made of natural hair. I love this design because it gives you more control over the finished look. I can pick up liquids or creams with the synthetic side and blend it out with the natural side. Or I could use the tip of the brush and work with both sides at once. It’s so versatile!

The natural side is very soft and very fluffy. I’ve washed it quite a few times and it hasn’t shed at all. The bristles are short and tightly packed to easily pick up pigment and blend it. The shape is slightly square. It reminds me of the 129 Powder/Blush Brush but less rounded.

The synthetic side looks like your typical foundation brush. The bristles are soft yet firm. It’s perfect for applying cream blushes and liquid highlighters. I haven’t experienced any shedding from this side either. The 128 seems to be very well made!

The MAC 128 Split Fibre Cheek Brush looks odd but it works and it’s very nice quality. The handle is sturdy, the bristles are soft and there’s no shedding. I like using it for blush but it has become my go to brush for applying my new Magnetic Nude Extra Dimension Skinfinish! I definitely recommend it especially if you’ve been struggling with sparkly highlighters. The MAC 128 Split Fibre Cheek brush costs $35.00 and is available online and in stores/counters at MAC.
