MAC Autoerotique Blush Review

Better late than never right? It took me so long to finally receive my Autoerotique blush after Nordstrom forgot to pack it in my Magnetic Nude haul! Then it took me forever to finally stop smothering my cheeks in Pleasure Model long enough to actually start testing Autoerotique out. But now that I have I adore it! Not as much as Pleasure Model but Autoerotique still holds a special place in my acrylic organizer. Check it out!

The crazy part is it looks a lot like Pleasure Model in the pan but it’s very different. Pleasure Model is more a coppery orange while Autoerotique is a rosy coral shade. The texture is very similar to Pleasure Model as it’s very soft and finely milled. The color payoff is pretty nice but because Autoerotique is a bit lighter than Pleasure Model it takes a lot of layering for the color to really show up on me. I still get that natural flush from within finish but it does look a bit more powdery applied than Pleasure Model. I attribute that to all the building I have to do.

I can wear Autoerotique alone or over a base (powder/foundation) and get around 8 hours of wear before I notice any fading. But because it can feel a bit powdery I’d suggest applying at least a dusting of powder before applying. A bit of Fix+ or Elf Mist and Set is a big help too! Overall, it really is a wonderful natural blush that I think would work well on a variety of skin tones. If Pleasure Model was a little too dark or orange for you then definitely give Autoerotique a try. Surprisingly, it’s still available online at MAC!
