Happy New Year lovelies! It’s only the first day 2014 and I’m already playing faves with my new MAC Magnetic Appeal Skinfinish. It’s the perfect highlight to lead me into the new year!

Magnetic Appeal is described as a medium tan with a fine gold sheen but it’s more of bronzed gold with a light metallic finish. I have collected a few Extra Dimension Skinfinish powders in my time but Magnetic Appeal has become my favorite. It’s not as noticeable as my other highlighters. I’ll be honest. I love to pile on the shimmer so my cheeks can glow into the next week. But with Magnetic Appeal the glow just looks natural. Magnetic Appeal doesn’t scream “highlight”. It melts into the skin and give a natural lit from within appearance. It’ll make you look like, as the famous Beyonce would say, “I woke up like this. Flawless.”

Magnetic Appeal wears beautifully for around 8 hours before I notice any fading. The powder has a slight baked feel but it’s still pretty soft and easy to pick up with both natural and synthetic brushes. The gold base is rather pigmented so lighter complexions may want to use a light hand and a duo fiber brush.
