The MAC Alluring Aquatic summer collection release has come and gone but I’m still excited about my lipsticks! I really can’t rave enough about the packaging. It’s so darn pretty to look at! The colors in this collection could have been much more exciting but I’m still pleased with my purchase. I think there’s a product everyone will love in this collection!
Of all of the Alluring Aquatic lipsticks I think Mystical would be the most universal. It’s a soft warm rose with brown undertones and a Cremesheen finish. Mystical is just one of those easy to wear lipsticks that pretty much anyone call pull off from pale to deep complexions. It’s a “my lips but better” shade for me so I can easily toss it on and go without any fuss. The texture is also very easy to work with. Mystical is very creamy and glides on to the lips effortlessly with nice pigmentation. It leaves a soft sheen without looking too glossy and the color doesn’t slide around my lips too much. I find the Cremesheen formula to be very kind to my dry lips. Mystical didn’t draw too much attention to any dry spots and it didn’t settle into lip lines. It was moderately hydrating and wore quite comfortably for around 3 hours before beginning to fade. It’s a really nice lipstick! However, if you own Glamour Daze or Bad Girl Riri (or similar lipsticks) then it’s safe to say that you can skip Mystical. It’s really close to both shades. The only difference is that it’s slight lighter and more pink than Glamour Daze and creamier and less brown than Bad Girl Riri.
As you know, I’m not really a neutral lip kind of gal so I just had to spice Mystical up just a bit! I like the way it looks straight out of the tube but I like it so much better paired with MAC Beet lip pencil. Beet is soft mid-tone brick red so it pulls out more of the rose and tones down the brown a bit.The combination is really beautiful! Mystical may not be a super fun summery lipstick but it’s definitely worth having in your stash! Well, if you can still track it down that is!
