Maybelline Glowing Garnet Color Elixir Review

Remember those Maybelline Bleached Neons Color Elixirs I showed you? Sure you do! I’ve been playing around with them for the last couple of weeks and I’m quite impressed with the formula. I was already a fan of the Color Elixir formula before I hauled these but I’m really digging the new colors. I was expecting them to be a little brighter and more “in your face” but they’re still pretty nice summer shades. Of all of the colors I’ve hauled I think I like Glowing Garnet the best!

Glowing Garnet is actually a really ironic name for this shade because it isn’t glowing or garnet at all. It’s actually a soft pinky coral that’s pretty similar to Radiant Raspberry. It’s a little lighter and less red than Radiant Raspberry but they’re still close in color on me. Despite the odd name, I really like Glowing Garnet! It’s an easy to wear shade that’ll look flattering on all complexions and the formula is very easy to love.

Glowing Garnet applies very smoothly with nice pigmentation and feels very good on the lips. It’s lightly hydrating and has a glossy sheen that lasts for around 2 hours. The formula is slightly thick but I didn’t find it to be too thick and it doesn’t really feel sticky or tacky either. Once the glossiness fades, Glowing Garnet leaves behind a soft coral stain that lasts for another 4 hours before completely fading away. I’ve said it a million times but I’ll say it again. The Maybelline Color Elixirs are really nice glosses! The only downside to them is the powdery perfume-y scent and taste but it’s rather light and fades very quickly. If you haven’t tried one yet I recommend heading to your local drugstore and scooping one up!
