Revlon Carnival Spirit Super Lustrous Lipstick Review

Just when I thought I knew the Super Lustrous lipsticks in and out Revlon throws me for a loop! The Rio Rush collection lipsticks had me really confused. Sheer Super Lustrous lipsticks? I didn’t think there was such a thing! I was very disappointed with the pigmentation and application of Sultry Samba but Carnival Spirit turned out to be not so bad.

I’m not usually a fan of sheer lipsticks but Carnival Spirit is slowly winning me over. It looks like an intense bright orange in the tube but it’s more of a soft coral with a shine finish. I figured the shine finish would give off a nice sheen but Carnival Spirit feels more like a gloss than a lipstick. I actually wish it was a gloss because the whole lipstick thing is throwing me off! Carnival Spirit glides smoothly onto the lips and applies sheer but it’s buildable. Don’t expect any of the intensity you see from the tube though! With a few swipes I’m able to achieve a semi-opaque look with a bit of my natural lip color peeking through.

I’m not a big fan of how sheer it is but the formula is pretty nice! Carnival Spirit feels really good on the lips! It’s slightly moisturizing and the sheen makes my lips look nice and juicy. It wears quite comfortably for around 3 hours before beginning to fade into a soft coral stain. Carnival Spirit really isn’t too bad! I wouldn’t recommend it for other bold lip divas though. However, I think it’s perfect for ladies who like a soft pop of color! Sometimes I forget that everyone isn’t comfortable rocking opaque, bright lips and that’s okay! Different strokes for different folks, right?

This is nice. I like this one better than Sultry Samba.
