No matter how often you wash and moisturize your skin is going to eventually become dull. It’s just the way of the world. Thankfully, Freeman Beauty created the Feeling Beautiful line of masks! The masks get a lot of love in the beauty community so I decided to hop on board with the popular Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask.

Boy am I loving it! The Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask is formulated with:

  • Activated Charcoal to gently absorb oil and impurities
  • Black Sugar to exfoliate dead skin cells for soft clear skin

The mask has a thick, black grainy appearance and a subtle sweet, earthy scent. It comes in a long plastic tube with a plastic flip top. The packaging seemed to work well at first but after a couple of uses I noticed my top stopped closing completely. It just doesn’t snap anymore. It hasn’t caused any issues so I’m not too bothered with it.

The texture is thin and grainy but it doesn’t feel watery or rough on the skin. The sugar granules are noticeable in the tube and on the skin but they aren’t big or hard. They actually melted into my skin as I gently massaged the mask onto my face. It felt really good and seemed to exfoliate pretty well too. After massaging the mask into my skin for a minute or so I left in on for 5 minutes and experienced a nice, subtle warming effect. It’s much less intense than the tingle you get from the GlamGlow masks and it fades quicker too. The mask rinsed off very easily and left my skin feeling very soft and clean. My moisturizer and beauty oil absorb much better after using this mask and my makeup applies more smoothly. The mask is quite versatile too! I used it in the shower and my skin felt silky smooth from head to toe. It even worked well on my feet! The Charcoal & Black Sugar Mask also makes a great lip scrub for when you’re in a pinch. I say “in a pinch” because the charcoal definitely overpowers the black sugar and makes for one nasty taste. But it still gets the job done! My lips weren’t sore afterwards and felt very soft. The Charcoal & Black Sugar Mask is totally a score at just $4! I snagged mine at CVS but it’s also available at other drugstores and Ulta. The masks also come in small packets for about $1 so you can sample more than one!
