Lipsticks can be so high maintenance sometimes. Especially if you have dry lips. You have to exfoliate, apply lots of balm, prime, etc. It can be a lot! Some days I just don’t have the time or patience for a full lip routine. That’s why I love to have a fuss free lippie or two that I can just toss on throughout the day. Like my Tarte Escape Lip Surgence pencil. Take a look!
It’s been a long time since I’ve hauled the Tarte Lip Surgence holiday set but I’ve been digging them up and giving them a whirl lately. I forgot how much I liked them! The chubby pencil design is super cute! Escape comes in a light pink sparkling pink tube with purple detailing and a shiny gold cap. I’m a big fan of the packaging and the retractable design. Escape is both convenient and adorable!
Escape is a cool, light frosty baby pink with multidimensional shimmer and a soft sheen. It’s a Natural Lip Luster so it’s very lightweight and sheer. With a light application I get a very soft, sheer pink wash of color with a hint of shimmer and sheen. As I pile it on, Escape becomes more semi-opaque and shimmery.
The formula feels like a cross between a gloss and a balm. It has the sheen and tint of a gloss but the moisture and lightweight texture of a balm. I slipped it on after exfoliating and it felt so soothing on the lips. I was surprised by how long it lasted because the texture is so lightweight. Escape wore for around 6 hours before completely fading away. Very impressive considering the formula didn’t feel tacky or sticky at all! The color is pretty light so it didn’t leave much of a stain on me but it did leave my lips feeling soft after it faded. Escape is super cute on its own but I also liked how nicely it paired with lip liners and lipsticks. I wasn’t expecting much from Escape but it turned out to be a wonderful fuss free lippie! I think checking out the Tarte booth on your next Sephora trip is a must!
