So I Went Back to CVS…

And ended up with all of this. I know. This is kind of insane. But it’s so hard to stay out of CVS when I’m always racking up Extra Care bucks and coupons! Who can say no to 30% off plus an additional $5 off? Not me!

I noticed my coupon was expiring soon so I thought I’d finally pick up a couple of the Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadows that everyone has been raving about. There were a lot of nice colors to choose from but I settled on Bella Mandarin and Bella Violet. I threw on Bella Mandarin for a quick test drive today and so far I like it. It’s a little on the sheer side but it’s buildable with a soft, smooth texture. It went applied quite nicely without primer and didn’t seem to have any fallout. However, it’s fading pretty quickly so it looks like you’ll need a primer with these beauties. I can’t wait to finish testing so I can give you guys a full review!

While on Instagram (aka enabler city), I saw one of my followers raving about the NYX Pore Filler primer so I thought I’d give it a try. She claimed that it smooths out the skin and keeps you matte all day. Sounds good to me! I’m more on the dry side but I have some massive shine going on in my t-zone lately. I gave it a quick try this morning and it seems to work very well. My pores and small bumps looked noticeably smaller and it knocked out my t-zone shine without making my skin look flat or dry. My makeup applied smoothly and my skin looked flawless when I was done. I’m still testing it out but it looks like the Pore Filler is a winner! I also picked up the Matte Finish Setting Spray for added protection. It’s a water based formula so it feels lightweight and absorbs into the skin quickly. It doesn’t necessarily deliver a matte finish. Especially if you’re using a dewy foundation like Revlon Nearly Naked. However, it did knock out some of the extra shine and my foundation has been holding up nicely all day. I can’t wait to use it on my clients to see how it really holds up!

Last, but certainly not least, I picked up one of the MUA Liquid Lipsticks in Hot Pink #207. It’s a crazy bright, cool pink that’s bound to turn heads. It’s incredibly pigmented and has a creamy texture but it’s a little difficult to work with. The formula is really clingy and the tiny brush applicator takes some getting used to. I hope I grow to like it as I experiment with it more because the color is so beautiful!

It’s even brighter and more intense in person. I love the color!

  3. It seems you need to add some fix plus to bring more of that purple out in the Milani violet eyeshadow

That’s what I plan on doing. It’s more sheer than I thought it would be but I love the color. I hope it’s better wet!
