Stop! Primer time! If you would have asked me about primers two years ago I would have told you they’re no big deal. Fast forward to today and I can’t get enough of them! The right primer will enhance the way your makeup looks, applies and perform. Since I’ve been becoming a bit of a primer junkie I thought I’d share some of my faves with you. Take a look!
The Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser is a silicone based formula that delivers a smooth finish and subtle blurring effect. While it won’t exactly erase your pores, it smooths the skin so well that it minimizes them and makes wrinkles and fine lines a little less noticeable. It’s a great primer to have if you work with thicker foundations or struggle with larger pores or fine lines.
The NARS Instant Line and Pore Perfector is another great primer for gals struggling with large pores, wrinkles and fine lines. It’s formulated with Hyaluronic acid microspheres that gently plumps lines and wrinkles while smoothing out the skin. The Instant Line and Pore Perfector also reduces shine so it’s great for oily gals too. I love using it to minimize shine in my T-zone and prevent my concealer from creasing.
The NYX Pore Filler is actually a nice affordable alternative to the NARS Instant Line and Pore Perfector. The blurring and filling effect isn’t as dramatic but it’s still rather impressive for a drugstore primer. The Pore Filler reduces shine and gives my makeup a nice satiny, skin-like finish no matter what foundation I’m using.
Hourglass No 28 Primer Serum
The Hourglass No 28 Primer Serum is perfect for the colder months! It’s formulated with a blend of 14 essential oils, 10 lipid rich plant oils and vitamins to intensely hydrate and rejuvenate the skin. The No 28 Primer Serum makes my skin feel super soft, radiant and dewy while creating a smooth base for makeup. I think it’s the perfect primer for dry and mature skin types!
The Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer is another great formula for the winter months. It’s incredibly creamy, hydrating and silicone free so it’s great for sensitive skin too. The Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer makes my skin feel super soft and keeps my dry skin flake free on even the coldest of days.
MAC Prep + Primer CC Colour Correcting SPF 30 in Recharge
The MAC Recharge CC Colour Correcting primer is a must have for WOC! It has a peachy orange tint that adds a subtle radiance and luminosity to the skin. I love using it when my skin is looking a little dull and needs a pick me up. It smooths out the skin, controls shine and gives the most flawless finish.
