I’m not afraid to rock blue or green lips but when the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna 2 Lipstick was announced I was a little nervous to try it. Crazy right? It’s just something about frost and brown lipsticks that makes me look a little off. Like I smoke too much or have old lady lips.

But Viva Glam Rihanna 2? Surprisingly easy to wear. I actually like the little booger! It’s described as a warm mauve with silver frost but it’s more of a cool taupe with silver frost and a metallic finish. I thought Viva Glam Rihanna 2 might look a little too garish because of the frost finish but it’s quite subtle on me. Like a frosty nude. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this beauty looked on me!

The formula turned out to be pretty nice too! Viva Glam Rihanna 2 applies smoothly and evenly with semi-opaque coverage and MAC’s classic vanilla scent. Despite all the frost, the texture is very smooth, creamy and comfortable to wear. Viva Glam Rihanna 2 didn’t dry out my lips at all and it wore rather well too. Viva Glam Rihanna lasts for around 4-5 hours before leaving behind a shimmery bronze-y taupe stain. I didn’t experience any bleeding or feathering and the color didn’t really settle into my lips lines or emphasize flakes either.

Did I mention that I actually like this lipstick? Sure, it’s a little out of my comfort zone but add a little lip liner and it’s full on glamorous like Miss Rihanna herself! My favorite way to wear it is with MAC Nightmoth and Currant lip liners to give it a little definition and edge. If you haven’t gotten your hands on Viva Glam Rihanna 2 or the original you might want to grab them soon. Once the Viva Glam Miley train starts rolling in they may be a bit harder to find.
