Milani Fruit Punch Color Statement Lipstick Review

I’ve really grown to love all of the quirky things about my body this year. But my lip lines? No. Sorry. I’m still not feeling the love. I know they’re a part of life and makes lips unique and blah blah blah. But aren’t you just a little tired of them messing up lipsticks?

I know I should probably blame the lipsticks but I can’t help but want to beat up my lip lines sometimes. They just need to behave! I would have loved the Milani Fruit Punch Color Statement Lipstick if it wasn’t for them.

It’s a warm coral pink with a satin finish and watermelon scent. The color looks tame in the tube but it really pops against my brown skin. I thought Fruit Punch would an everyday lipstick but it strikes me more of a summery pink. I really like it!

It just needs a little work to look its best on my lips though. The formula is very creamy and lightweight but it’s rather clingy so it emphasizes flakes and settles into lip lines. Lip liners seemed to help a bit but Fruit Punch looked its best when I applied a little gloss on top. I do like to swipe on a coat of gloss from time to time but I hate when it’s required to make a lipstick work. It just feels fussy to me.

Minus the settling, Fruit Punch is a really great lipstick. It’s pigmented, easy to apply and feels pretty good on the lips. It wears pretty well too–lasting for around 4-6 hours before fading into a stain. I just wish my lip lines weren’t standing in the way of this love affair. We really could have had something great!
