Marc Jacobs Sweet Escape Lust for Lacquer Review

When it comes to splurging on makeup I wouldn’t normally tell you to go all out for a lip gloss. But the Marc Jacobs Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl glosses? Go crazy, girl!

I know $28 is a bit pricey but I really do enjoy the Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl formula. My current fave is Sweet Escape, a soft peachy beige with subtle gold shimmer and a soft sheen. It’s the kind of gloss you can wear alone for a carefree look or pair with a lip liner/lipstick for a sophisticated nude lip. It’s pretty versatile!

Sweet Escape applies smoothly and mostly even with a slightly thick, tacky texture and sweet, cake-like scent. The formula is quite comfortable to wear as it isn’t very sticky and has a plush, cushion-y feel on the lips. Plus, there’s a slight cooling and tingling effect that feels pretty nice and refreshing, too.

Sometimes nude glosses can be a little tricky but Sweet Escape is surprisingly easy to wear. The color is rather light so it’s a bit milky and settles into my lip lines but it’s only noticeable if someone is way too far up in your grill. Like my camera in the lip swatch below for instance. In the real world, Sweet Escape looks very natural and it works so well with deeper complexions. It’s well worth the coin!
