You know what I love about makeup? That there’s truly no boundaries. I know orange toned lippies are usually reserved for spring and summer but they don’t have to be. You can slip one on in the dead of winter and still look fabulous. So why not step outside of the box a little? That’s what makes makeup fun!

I’m sure a few people have picked up the Milani Matte Passion Color Statement Matte Lipstick to rock during the warmer seasons but I didn’t waste any time at all. I love a fierce orange lip in the winter! And Matte Passion? It’s fierce, hunny. Very fierce!

Matte Passion is a fiery, vibrant tangerine orange with slight red undertones and a sweet vanilla scent. It’s not a super unique color but it’s still quite beautiful and flatters a variety of complexions. I love how it looks on both light and and dark skin tones. It just pops on everyone!

The formula is pretty decent too. Matte Passion applies smoothly with a creamy lightweight texture and full coverage in a single swipe. The color does go on a little patchy but it’s easy to even out with an extra layer or two.

Some matte formulas can wreak havoc on my dry lips but the Color Statement Matte lipsticks perform pretty well. Matte Passion didn’t tug or pull at all during application and it wasn’t drying either. The formula is a bit clingy so it emphasizes flakes a little but I didn’t really have any issues with settling, bleeding or feathering. Matte Passion wears rather well for around 5-6 hours before fading into an intense stain that’ll definitely get you through the rest of the day without touch ups. If you’ve been looking for a bright matte orange lipstick that won’t break the bank I highly recommend giving the Milani Matte Passion Color Statement Matte Lipstick a try!
