Don’t you hate when something looks amazing on everyone else but just “meh” on you? It’s the worst! When I saw everyone raving about the new Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara I snatched it right up hoping it would perform the same miracles on my lashes.
Unfortunately. Lash Sensational just doesn’t live up to the hype for me. Note to self: stop taking mascara advice from people with already long, luscious lashes. Seeing the before and after results from Musings of a Muse and Beauty With Emily Fox had me expecting lots of length and mile high lashes but the the results were just okay.
Don’t get me wrong. Lash Sensational isn’t a dud by any means. It just doesn’t do much for me. I see a little boost in length and volume but it’s not nearly as dramatic as I was hoping. It does seem to deliver a “full fan effect” as Maybelline boasts but it simply falls flat on my short, stumpy lashes.
Lash Sensational still seems to perform pretty well though. It features a plastic spiky applicator that’s easy to use and grips every lash for a nice separating and curling effect. It looks a little bulky at first but the layer of spikes allows for precise application without much smudging. Lash Sensational holds up well throughout day lasting for over 8 hours without smudging or flaking.
If Lash Sensational offered a little more length and drama I would totally be head over heels. The packaging is super cute and the wand is incredibly easy to use. But overall, Lash Sensational works better as a layering mascara for me.
