NYX Espresso Eyebrow Gel Review

NYX Espresso Brow Gel

Happy Sunday guys and gals! I don’t know about you guys but I’m just so relaxed right now. Like, I can’t even begin to explain the level of zen I’m experiencing today. Not only am I off today but it’s a breezy 75 degrees here in Detroit and I have like no plans today–other than a relaxing pedicure. And to top it all off, my dad just finished making me a sausage for lunch. It’s like I’m in heaven right now!

The only thing that could make this day even sweeter is if I had a good brow day for my pedi appointment. Which is definitely possible with the new NYX Eyebrow Gel. ‘Cause this stuff is so easy to use and works really great too! The NYX Eyebrow Gel formula is very similar to the Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow Gel–an exact dupe almost. There’s some slight differences but overall the NYX Eyebrow Gel makes a great alternative to the MUFE version.

The NYX Eyebrow Gel has a slightly thick, mousse-gel like texture that’s super creamy, pigmented and easy to blend. All you need is a tiny drop to cover even the most sparse brows as this stuff is super intense and spreads like butter. You just have to be careful during application because the NYX Eyebrow Gel does come with some trial and error. The first time  tried it, I used a bit too much and my brows looked overdone but with a light hand the NYX Eyebrow Gel can look really natural and seamless.

Just be sure to work quickly though because once this baby sets it doesn’t move at all! I usually wait until I’ve finished filling in my brows to go back and blend but this formula sets so quickly it’s best to blend as you go so you’re not left scraping your brow brush across your face like a mad woman. On the bright side, this stuff lasts forever! I’ve accidentally fallen asleep with my brows on a few times and I’ve woken up with them still in tact every time. Pretty darn impressive! And thanks to the thicker, gel like texture the NYX Eyebrow Gel also tames my unruly brows so I don’t even need to set them with my Anastasia Brow Gel afterwards. For $7, I’d say the new NYX Eyebrow Gel is beyond a steal and I totally recommend it. I haven’t touched my MUFE Aqua Brow since!

Oh, I like that color – a brown with a cool grayish undertone, not too dark, will look very natural on me. And it does look very good on you. I don’t like brow products that have warm undertones. I’m still making my way through my beloved Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (using daily, will probably finish in 2 more years), but will keep this in mind if I ever run out or if it dries up!

This one is really good! I still have a crap ton of my ABH Dipbrow left but I was dying to try this. I think I’m really done trying new brow products though lol. I have enough to last me a lifetime. Literally
