Sephora 15 Polished Purple Cream Lip Stain Review

Sephora 15 Polished Purple Cream Lip Stain

Tired of liquid lipstick yet? I’m not! Regular lipsticks are definitely easier to apply but for some reason liquid lipsticks are just more fun. Lately, I’ve been having a ball with the Sephora 15 Polished Purple Cream Lip Stain. Not only is the color absolutely gorgeous but this baby lasts and lasts!

That’s perhaps my favorite thing about liquid lipsticks–they truly don’t quit. Oh and they come in the most unique colors, too! Take Polished Purple for example. Sure, we’ve been seeing a lot of purples lately but none quite like this. Polished Purple is a deep cool blackened eggplant with fine micro-shimmer and a yummy cupcake scent. I have like a million purple lipsticks lying around but I don’t have a single dupe for Polished Purple. While some shades may come close, the micro-shimmer makes Polished Purple truly unique and gives it a slight metallic shift that looks so badass in an ultra matte finish.

I fell head over heels for the color the first time I swatched it in the store but I was worried that shimmer + ultra matte finish = super drying. But nope! Polished Purple is actually quite comfortable to wear. It applies smoothly and evenly with a slightly thick, creamy texture that dries down within a minute or so to an ultra matte non-drying finish. As I mentioned with African Violet, the formula reminds me a lot of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks but there’s no sticky uncomfortable feeling during the dry down and they’re a little more comfortable to wear.

The Sephora Cream Lip Stains are formulated with avocado oil so they’re actually not too drying at all. Polished Purple wears for around 6-7 hours before I notice some slight fading and it starts to feel a little dry. And even then, there’s no flaking, settling or crazy patchiness. Overall, I recommend the Sephora 15 Polished Purple Cream Lip Stain to every purple addict out there. There’s no duping this color and the formula is a real treat!

OMG, I need that purple. Stunning. It looks great on you, too. On me, it’ll look a bit Goth, but I really don’t care. 🙂

    1. You shouldn’t cause it won’t! But it’ll definitely make you look like a daring diva though 😉

  2. This color looks beautiful on you!

OMG, you look gorgeous! Love the purple lips with the cat eye and the purple eye liner! I love this purple color, but not quite sure if I can pull it off. I’m paler in fall/winter, so this one is going to look really dark on me, will have to channel my inner vamp/goth girl and see if can happen 🙂 Oh, and I’m drooling over your beautiful purple lipstick collection, and so many LE too! I’m eyeing the IMAN one in Taboo

    1. Thank you! Ironically, I like vampy lip colors a lot better on lighter complexions. They look good on darker skin too but I think the stark contrast really makes them pop. I think you would look amazing in Polished Purple! You’ll just have to keep the rest of your makeup light to ease yourself into it. Now Taboo? That one you’ll love! It’s a little vampy too but not as much as Polished Purple and the formula is SO creamy and long lasting. It’s a must have!

Gorgeous color on you!! I absolutely love Purple myself, so this is a must have for my collection.

    1. Thank you! You definitely need to add this baby to your collection then! It’s a really unique purple that just about anyone could pull off
