In the midst of all these new matte lipstick releases, I’ve been making sure to keep my lips nice and moisturized. ‘Cause we all know dry, flaky lips + matte lipstick = a disaster. I’ve already shared my arsenal of dry lip repellants but I recently came across a new one that I’m currently addicted to.
It’s the Yes to Coconut Cooling Lip Oil. My good makeup pal, Pascha, recommended it a while back but I was never able to find it until I randomly spotted it at Target one day. Woohoo! I had never tried a lip oil before but I’ve read nothing but good reviews about the Coconut Cooling Lip Oil so I picked one up. Yes to Carrots describes it as:
A lip oil that provides long lasting nourishment, softness and fits just about anywhere. This new lip oil will quench dry lips with decadent oils, that also cool while it moisturizes. Formulated with a plethora of oils: Virgin Coconut, Olive and cooling Eucalyptus, your lips will be intensely moisturized and soft. Throw in an added hit of natural shine, and you will be ready for coconut kisses under the sun!
And they told no lies! The Coconut Cooling Lip Oil has a slightly thick gel like texture that feels a lot like a gloss. But it’s so much better than any ol’ gloss! This stuff is intensely hydrating and has a slight cooling effect that’s very refreshing. The second I apply it, my lips instantly feel softer and look smoother. I think the Coconut Cooling Lip Oil would make a great balm but I prefer to use it overnight or as a lip treatment while I’m chilling around the house. It really hydrates my dry lips and keeps the flakes at bay while locking in moisture so my lips feel and look soft all day long. Usually, lip treatments this good will set you back a pretty penny (think Hourglass’ Lip Treatment) but the Yes to Coconut Cooling Lip Oil only costs $5. That’s a serious steal! If you have insanely dry lips that love matte lipsticks I recommend heading over to Target and grabbing the Yes to Coconut Cooling Lip Oil. It’s a real treat!
