You’ll Light Up a Room with the L’Oreal Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminators

L'Oreal Golden, Rose True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator

Who says you can’t find a good drugstore highlight? Not anymore! Long gone are the days of being forced to trek to your local Sephora to achieve a dewy show-stopping complexion that lights up a room. Drugstore brands have seriously been stepping their game up in every department: lipsticks, eyeliners, brow goodies–and now highlighters.

Now, you can walk into CVS or Walgreens and find a handful of beautiful bronzers and glowy liquid illuminators to complement your complexion. L’Oreal recently released the new True Match Lumi Collection filled with bronzers and liquid illuminators for cool, warm and neutral undertones to highlight your face for the gods. There’s 3 bronzers and 3 liquid illuminators in the collection (see the display here) and I grabbed 2 of each to swatch and share with ya. We’ll start off with the Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminators which L’Oreal describes as:

The ultimate in luminosity. L’Oreal Paris introduces its first liquid highlighter specifically crafted to highlight key features or illuminate all over. Designed in Golden, Rose and Ice shades that flatter every skintone from warm to neutral to cool. Golden Illuminator enhances peachy or yellow tones in warm skintones. Rose Illuminator enhances yellow, peachy, pink or blue tones in neutral skintones. Ice Illuminator enhances pink or blue tones in cool skintones.

As you can probably imagine, the Ice Illuminator seemed a bit too cool for me but Golden and Rose seems to fit warm and neutral complexions very well. Both shades looked beautiful on my brown skin and the formula seems to be pretty good too. The Lumi Liquid Illuminators have a slightly thick creamy texture with a moderately pigmented base and loads of fine shimmer. I haven’t tried them on yet so I can’t speak too much on the quality but I really liked the way Rose and Golden looked on me. For starters, the glow is just lovely! It’s not metallic or a glitter-fest in a tube. Just a soft subtle glow that can easily be built up to housewife status. I’m anxious to give Rose a go as a highlight and mix a little golden into my foundation for a complexion that glows like the sun.

Will you be trying the new L’Oreal Lumi Liquid Illuminators?

How do you apply liquid high lighter

    1. There’s so many ways! You can lightly pat a little on your cheekbones after you’ve applied your foundation. Or apply it to bare skin and layer your foundation on top for a natural lit from within kinda glow. You can also mix a little into your foundation or moisturizer for a subtle glow all over. The possibilities are truly endless!

Gorgeous!!! I want to get golden but I’ve already broken my low buy goal…sigh 🙂

    1. Get it so we can both be bad girls together! LOL I’ve been splurging a little myself. This month is gonna be a tight one!

I got this in Ice, and it’s so pretty for fair skin. Rose and Golden are lovely, but I can’t pull them off. I also got Ice and Rose in the powder version, and I like those a lot as well. The powdrs are too shimmery for all over the face, but they’re great for strobing. I can’t figure out why everyone seems to dislike them so much.

    1. You know what? I can’t either! I’m gonna finally try them on this week but I thought they were pretty nice when playing around with them. I’m not sure why these are getting such a bad rep

You won’t believe this but I’m really loving Disney Dare To Dream Pocahantas Luminizer Stick in Free Spirit ( champagne gold). I never buy Disney makeup, but then I saw a good review/swatch and decided to go for it. It’s only $3, and the shimmer is so lovely and subtle on my fair/light medium skin. I like it just as much as my Becca and Colour Pop highlighters, and it’s a great base for powder blushes. I even bought a backup, because it’s LE.

    1. Don’t you just love when that happens?! I need to start keeping an eye out for those Disney collections because I keep reading good things about the makeup. I usually just get the lashes but now I’m gonna be sure to grab a set or two before they sell out. Now I’m curious to find this highlight lol
