Looking for a nice everyday lipstick? Maybe something you can wear to work? Or to run a few errands? Well here’s something you might like! It’s one of the new L’Oreal Le Lacque lipstick pens in Choco-Lacque that’s super easy to wear and flattering on a variety of skin tones.
Choco-Lacque is muted rosy pink with a slight brown undertone and satin finish. It sports the same powdery floral scent as other L’Oreal lipsticks that isn’t necessarily strong but you’ll definitely smell it as you apply. I’m not the biggest fan of the scent but I am a big fan of the color!
I’ve been trying to adopt a new “lipstick testing schedule” where I rotate new shades every couple of days but somehow Choco-Lacque has managed to slipped the system and remained in my work bag for an entire week. I literally couldn’t stop wearing it because the color is so fuss free and easy to wear and the formula isn’t too bad either.
I was expecting more of a gloss type formula from the Le Lacque pens but they’re more of a satin lipstick with a light sheen. Choco-Lacque applied smoothly and evenly with a lightweight, creamy texture and full coverage in a single swipe. I found the formula pretty comfortable to wear though I was a little disappointed that Choco-Lacque wasn’t at least a little moisturizing. Color me confused but when I think of lip lacquer I think of a full on glossy lips that feel nice and juicy. Choco-Lacque just isn’t that.
But I can still dig it ’cause Choco-Lacque still wears like a dream. The color doesn’t settle into my lip lines, bleed or feather so it can hold its own without lip liner. It wears comfortably for around 3-4 hours before fading into a light stain that fades evenly without making my lips look all crazy. Which is extremely important when I’m at work all up in folks’ faces and such. Not to mention, the color is perfect for the more natural approach that Bobbi Brown is known for so it makes a great toss and go lipstick for work. That’s probably why I can’t get enough of it!
