There’s a million things I love about my new job as a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown. The best part, however, is definitely the free makeup! The other gals at my counter told me I would love my welcome kit and they must already know me so well because were spot on. Bobbi hooked me up with a cute clear clutch filled with eyeshadows, blush, lip gloss and more.
There were 2 limited edition eyeshadow palettes included: Navy & Nude and Smokey Nudes. They were released last year and both seemed to receive pretty good reviews so I’m excited to try them. I’ve never tried any Bobbi Brown eyeshadows before but I’ve been anxious to get my hands on them after doing a few eye makeup lessons on my clients. The Sparkle and Metallic Eye Shadows are loaded with glitter that looks amazing when applied. The matte Eye Shadows are super soft and blendable–and some are even so pigmented and dense you can use them dry as an eyeliner. * swoon *

Along with the eyeshadow palettes, I received a Cement Sparkle Eye Shadow single and a Pale Pink Blush. It’s crazy how this mix worked out because I was hoping and praying I would receive a Cement Sparkle Eyeshadow because it is freaking gorgeous! On the flip side, I was hoping and praying I wouldn’t receive and Pale Pink Blush. Lo and behold, that’s exactly what was in the bag. My deep brown complexion doesn’t mesh well with pale anything so I was a little nervous to try it.
I couldn’t wait to slap Cement on though! Bobbi describes it as a “grey beige sparkle” which is pretty spot on as it meshes well with my greige lipsticks. And it’s loaded with chunky glitter! Cement Sparkle Eye Shadow is the kind of shadow you can pop on top of anything for an added touch of glamour. I really like it!
Turns out, I really like Pale Pink too! Despite the name and color, Pale Pink actually works quite well for a variety of skin tones. It never even crossed my mind to swatch it at the counter because it looked way too light and way too cool which always equals ashy for me. Apparently, Bobbi practices some kind of voodoo magic on her blushes because this pale blue toned blush not only shows up but it actually looks damn good on me. Color me shocked!
I also received 2 Brightening Lip Glosses that are so similar it took me a minute or two tell them apart. I love pink as much as the next gal but I would have liked to see a nude or something. Anywho! I received the shades Pink, a neutral pink, and Pink Lilac, a cool blue pink, both of which have been discontinued. Thankfully, they’re rather sheer and just add a touch of moisture, sparkle and sheen so I won’t be too hurt if I use them up. I do like using them as lipstick toppers when my lips start to feel a little dry though. Or to spice up a nude lip.
Bobbi tossed in a few samples too. I received a deluxe sample of the Vitamin Enriched Face Base which I love and a sample packet of the Soothing Cleansing Oil which I so need. I’ve been hellbent on staying on top of my skincare routine now that I’m in a full face of makeup 5 days a week so I’m glad I have another makeup removing cleanser to add to my arsenal. I’m also glad I have a bigger jar of the Vitamin Enriched Face Base because it’s hydrating and helps my makeup go on so smoothly and look fresh all day. Plus it smells soo good!
Last but not least, I received these cute little magnetic pins to stick under my name tag and let everyone know I’m a Bobbi gal. As you probably guessed, I’m a big fan of the Makeup Lessons pin because it’s a nice bright shade of hot pink. I’m so predictable!
