I don’t care what people say about drugstore makeup. When it comes to certain brands you get a hell of a lot of bang for your buck. Take Milani for instance. It’s like they can do no wrong. Especially when it comes to lipsticks. They’re some of the best on the market!
At the moment, I’m particularly fond of one of the new Color Statement Matte Lipsticks released this summer — Matte Beauty. It’s a warm peachy beige with a creamy matte finish and yummy vanilla scent that works very well with my complexion. So well, in fact, that I’m not stressin’ it if I only have time to apply lipstick before walking out of the door. Matte Beauty is a rather easy to wear nude for brown skin or anyone who loves a rich, warm brown matte.
On top of the color working like a charm, the formula is just as fuss free and easy breezy as a matte could be. Matte Beauty glides on with a lightweight creamy texture and full pigmentation in a single swipe. The formula isn’t too emollient so there’s no transferring or bleeding — and it didn’t creep into my lip lines either. Huge plus!
Matte Beauty is also surprisingly comfortable to wear for a matte lipstick. It lasts for around 3-4 hours without drying out my lips. Usually I’m reaching for a little gloss or balm after a couple of hours but I felt comfortable yapping it up to clients without checking the mirror for touchups. That’s actually what I love the most about Matte Beauty. It doesn’t fade all flaky and patchy like most nudes. Sometimes I just add a little nude gloss once it’s faded and call it day. Matte Beauty is a really great nude lip!
