Sephora’s Serving Lip Infusions!

Like many people, I used to have a bad habit of going to Sephora and checking out every counter except for the Sephora brand stuff. Sephora’s color collection is usually the heart of the store but I’ve managed to walk right past it every visit for years. Not anymore! After trying the Cream Lip Stains, I always find myself snooping around the Sephora brand stuff for a few minutes before browsing the rest of the store. You never know what gems you might find!

Recently, I dropped in during my lunch break and spotted the Rouge Infusion lip stains and Oil Infusion balms I’ve seen here and there on Instagram. Swatch time! Here’s how Sephora describes them:

Rouge Infusion Lip Stain

This must have lip stain delivers intense color with no sticky residue. It provides buildable coverage for a natural, sophisticated, or glamorous look. The weightless formula leaves lips stained, soft, hydrated and refreshed upon application.

Oil Infusion Color & Care

This hybrid formula nourishes and moisturizes the lips with a translucent color and a unique wet shine look. The new formula features fresh juicy colors and an addictively sensorial feel.

I really liked the texture of these when swatching them and the Rouge Infusions come in some pretty nice colors I ended up with:

  • 02 Rosewood Elixir Rouge Infusion pinky mauve
  • 05 Fuchsia Concentrate Rouge Infusion bright violet
  • 20 Dusty Rose Rouge Infusion rosy brown
  • 09 Iced Coffee Oil Infusion pinky beige

I slipped on Rosewood Elixir before writing this post and I’m kinda iffy on it. So far, the formula feels lightweight and seems comfortable to wear but it’s sheer and patchy. I had to really build it up for a more opaque, even finish. The application leaves a lot to be desired but once I got a nice, clean look I started digging Rosewood Elixir. It’s a great everyday lip color for a variety of skin tones but I wish it was a little easier to apply. Hopefully the other shades are a little better!

4 Thoughts to “Sephora’s Serving Lip Infusions!”

  1. Hah! Gotta say, the first and only time I’ve ever been to a Sephora, I made a beeline to the Sephora section just because of your Cream Lip Stains post! A shame these aren’t turning out so well. =(

    1. LOL that’s how I am when I go to Sephora now. That’s why I’m kinda disappointed with these so far. They’re nothing like the cream lip stains. Guess those babies left me with high expectations for their lippies

  2. Jessica Ruth

Yeah, I own the Ruby Lip Stain and I’m not a fan. There’s like no pigmentation.

    1. I thought it was just me! During swatching, everything showed up so well and seemed pigmented. I had to REALLY layer Rosewood Elixir on to see any color. Disappointing!
