L’Oreal Rose True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator Review
Rose gold glow? Yes please! There’s been a wave of rose gold highlights over the last year and I’m loving it. It just looks so good! Especially when on WOC. I’ve always been a sucker for golden highlights but I’ve come close to kicking them to the curb for that dazzling rose gold glow that makes my face dance in the light.
That’s why I’m always reaching for my L’Oreal Rose Liquid Glow Illuminator these days. It’s a warm, coppery rose gold with lots of golden shimmer and rather pronounced base. Most rose gold highlighters tend to pull more gold on me but I can definitely see the pink peeking through when I wear Rose which makes it even more alluring. It reminds me a lot of my old favorite, MAC Barbados Girl Lustre Drops from the RiRi Hearts MAC Collection a few years ago.
Like the Golden powder illuminator, Rose isn’t without it’s flaws, but it still comes out to be a fabulous highlight for the beauty on a budget. It has a thin, lightweight texture that’s easy to blend and sheer out using our fingers or a brush. You just have to work fast because Rose sets pretty quickly–in about a minute or so. It can be a little frustrating if you’re new to liquid illuminators but I didn’t find application to be too fussy. I’ve applied Rose using my fingers and my MAC 159 Duo Fibre Brush and I’ve had great results both times. Though I find Rose a little easier to blend and sheer out when using a brush.
Once Rose sets, your highlight is on and poppin’ all day baby! It’s nothing like the powder version. This stuff doesn’t move or fade for over 8 hours. If you apply it in the morning, you’ll still be glowing when you check in for the night. There’s a few chunky glitter pieces here and there but Rose still manages to give a stunning glow that doesn’t come off too frosty or in your face. Unless you want it that way. ‘Cause you can definitely build this baby up to a serious housewives glow!
If you can handle liquid illuminators (and have a quick hand) I recommend giving L’Oreal’s Rose Liquid Glow Illuminator a try. There’s so many different ways to use and apply it but the end result will always be the same: a beautiful rose gold glow that shines all day.
