Maybelline Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner Review

Maybelline Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner

If you know me, you know my signature look is simple. Natural base, bold lip, falsies and winged liner. It’s my go to look for when I’m in a rush, feeling lazy or just in the mood for something simple. The winged liner adds a little edge and oomph to an everyday look without being too overpowering. All you need is a good eyeliner, steady hand and sometimes a brush.

I usually reach for gel liners to craft my signature winged look but I decided to step out of my comfort zone a bit and try a liquid liner again. I’ve always found liquid liners tricky to use because they take longer to set (causing smudges) and the applicators are usually a little too flimsy to get in between my thick, curly lashes for a neat line. I’m still not completely convinced that liquid liner is the one for me but the Maybelline Master Precise Ink Eyeliner isn’t too shabby.

The Master Precise Ink Eyeliner has a simple pen like design that features a long, felt applicator with a very fine tip and some intense pigmentation. It glides on smoothly but the tip is a little softer than I’d like but I’m still able to achieve a smooth clean line without too much trouble from my stubborn lashes. The Master Precise Ink Eyeliner also takes a few moments to completely set but I have to admit that it didn’t smudge on my hooded lids as badly as other liquid liner pens. It also holds up very well throughout the day. The Master Precise Ink Eyeliner lasts for around 10 hours before beginning to show signs of fading — even on my watery eyes.

I wouldn’t trade my trusty Yves Saint Laurent or NARS gel liners for the Maybelline Master Precise Ink Eyeliner anytime soon but I can’t deny that it’s a pretty solid contender. I’ve been using it for over 2 months and not only has it performed well but it still hasn’t dried out yet either. See what I mean? Not too shabby! If you’re a fan of liquid eyeliners or even a beginner, I think you’ll really enjoy the Master Precise Ink Eyeliner.
