There’s a ton of things to love about fall but the one thing I don’t like is the cold weather. It can really wreak havoc on my skin sometimes making it very dry and flaky. Which is a mess when it comes to wearing makeup. Over the years, I’ve learned a trick or two that has helped my face stay smooth and flawless all year long.
One of my favorite tricks is switching out powder blushes for creams when my cheeks are feeling extra dry. I’m usually kinda dry all year round but in the fall and winter my cheeks can become rough, patchy and flaky causing powder blushes to look dry and unnaturally sit on top of my skin. Cream blush, like Bobbi Brown’s Pot Rouge, melts into the skin so I get a nice wash of color with a slight sheen that adds a soft glow.
I do prefer powder blushes over creams but I fell in love with Bobbi’s Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks the moment I arrived at the counter. They’re very creamy and easy to use with a wide color range to flatter all complexions. I currently have 6 in my stash including:
- Milk Chocolate a chocolate brown
- Powder Pink a light pink
- Chocolate Cherry a red brown
- Rose a pink rose
- Pale Pink a bright pastel pink
- Raspberry a deep raspberry pink
My absolute faves are Chocolate Cherry and Milk Chocolate because they are absolutely stunning on brown skin. I’ve recommended them to all of my WOC clients with great success because both shades look so amazing with so little effort. I’m also a big fan of Raspberry and Rose as they’re very pretty pinks that are easy to wear and add a nice warmth to my complexion.
If you suffer from dry cheeks, I totally recommend adding a cream blush or two to your collection — starting with one of the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouges. Stop by your local Bobbi Brown counter for a complimentary Lip & Cheek lesson so you can find the perfect matching lip for your choice!
