I think it’s safe to say, we all know that I’m a ColourPop addict. So when ColourPop announced on Instagram that they were having a 20% off flash sale for their fall collection I immediately hollered, “YAAAAAAAAAAS!”
ColourPop’s fall collection was a back-to-cool tribute to the 90s filled with limited edition shadows, lipsticks and lip liners. Oh, and sets too. Truthfully, I wanted the entire doggone collection because ColourPop nailed the shade selection and the quality is superb. However, I managed to walk away with just 4 fall goodies along with a few permanent ones, too.
Good things truly do come to those who wait! I’ve been eyeing the Forever Freshman Super Shock Shadow Set for weeks now and I’ve finally been able to snag for it just 24 bucks. It’s a lovely set of Super Shock shadows in a variety of finishes to craft a complete 90s inspired look. The set includes:
- Crimper soft gold with multi-dimensional gold glitter in a Metallic finish
- As If cool toned taupe in a Matte finish
- Melrose true rust in a Matte finish
- Koosh icy silver taupe in an Ultra-Metallic finish
- 90210 greyed out taupe with pink and gold glitter in a Satin Luxe finish
- Baby T deep blackened blue in Matte finish
When I first laid eyes on this set, I was swooning for 90210, Koosh and Baby T but all of the shadows turned out to be so freaking gorgeous! Most times, there’s shades in a set (or palette) that I know I won’t touch but I actually like all of the shades in the Forever Freshman Set. I think I’m going to get the most use out of Crimper, Koosh and Melrose though because they’re great everyday colors.
There were also individual shadows in the fall collection that were on sale and too stunning to pass up. ColourPop is already super cheap so a discount really put me in the mood to spend. Just a little bit. Don’t judge me. We’ve all been there. LOL! So I also tossed in my cart:
- Stereo blackened burgundy with copper and pink duo chrome glitter in a Metallic finish
- Boy Band intense red copper in a Ultra-Metallic finish
- Central Perk dirty maroon in Matte finish
My go to crease shade is Cherry Cordial from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette so I immediately tossed Central Perk into my basket because it’s really similar. I couldn’t help but to add Stereo and Boy Band after seeing the swatches. They’re beautiful lid colors for fall.
The Creme Gel Liners are now available so I just had to snatch up 2 shades. I chose DTLA, a matte deep blackened blue, and Get Paid, a metallic rose gold. I love adding a pop of color to my bottom lid with a little blue so DTLA was a no brainer. Get Paid recently jumped on my list after seeing how beautiful it looked on other WOC. I just know it would look amazing in the inner corners or all over the lid as an eyeshadow. Actually, both of them could be used as shadow sticks because they’re so pigmented and creamy.
Last but certainly not least, I added Swift blush to my cart after a good makeup buddy suggested I try it. It’s a rich warm deep brown with a matte finish that supposedly makes for a nice natural blush or subtle contour on WOC. When I saw all the rave reviews on ColourPop from a variety of complexions I caved. I’ve only swatched it so far but I think I’m going to be reaching for Swift a lot this season. It does seem like the perfect blush for WOC.
