CoverGirl Ebony Queen Natural Hue Bronzer Review

CoverGirl Ebony Queen Natural Hue Bronzer

When I first started wearing makeup, it was a struggle to find bronzers and contour powders deep enough for my complexion. Especially if I didn’t want to pay an arm an leg for one. And I didn’t. I was just getting the hang of this whole contouring thing so the last thing I needed was some fancy ass bronzer I really had no idea how to use.

So I set my sights to Google to search for an affordable drugstore bronzer that would be deep enough to contour my brown skin. All roads led to CoverGir’s iconic Queen Ebony Natural Hue Bronzer from Queen Latifah’s Queen Collection for WOC. It’s a deep warm bronze with a hint of shimmer that works very well for deeper complexions.

I was a little worried about the glitter when I first glanced at Ebony but the glitter doesn’t really seem to translate to the skin at all. Instead, it gives Ebony a very subtle sheen that keeps it from looking too flat and powdery — which I love. The texture is a little dry making Ebony a bit sheer but it’s still easily buildable and blendable so it works for me. Plus, the sheerness helps you from over-applying since Ebony canĀ get a little dark.

It’s not a bronzer I’d recommend for lighter complexions but I think gals with a medium dark to deep complexion absolutely must add CoverGirl Ebony Queen Bronzer to their collection. It’s great for beginners and pros alike and it’ll only set you back $7. Can’t beat that!

Ooh! It looks absolutely gorgeous on you. I need to check if they have a lighter shade that’s good for golden tanned/caramel sistas. The bronzer you have looks way too red. But dat finish doe!

    1. Try Brown Bronze – it’s the next lightest shade and more neutral.

Oh. Thank you so much! Hopefully it’s in Walgreens/CVS. Those bronzers seem hard to come by.

        1. They are lol. Only select CVS and Walgreens carry the Queen Collection. Like mostly urban areas. I’ve had the best luck finding them at Target

  3. I’ve been trying to find this everywhere! Do you have a link for it?

    3. I struggled to find it myself searching in drugstores which are picky about carrying this line. Target and Walmart are definitely your best bets!

Yasss! That face is snatched honey! It is one of my favorite bronzers. Along with the Shea Moisture bronzer in Mandalay Dusk.

    1. LOL thanks queen!! I’m quick to try something new but I’ve been sticking with this baby for years. I’m gonna have to check for that Shea Moisture bronzer though. This is like the third time someone has told me about it. Gotta be a sign to try it, right? LOL
