Has anyone else been having way too much fun holiday shopping this year? For some reason, I’m feeling extra jolly and in a mood to treat myself this Christmas. Work hard, play hard right?
This year, the holiday collections and new releases have been really good so I’ve been indulging in just about every sale I can crash in time. Including Sephora’s annual holiday reward card event where Beauty Insiders can save up to $25 off their purchase of $50. I’m just a regular ol’ Beauty Insider this year so I scored just $15 off my order but I’m not complaining.
We all know how quickly $15 can disappear in Sephora so I couldn’t wait to receive my holiday reward card to indulge in goodies I can’t usually get on sale with my employee discount. Of course, there were like a million things that I wanted from Sephora but once I finally received my reward card all of the things at the top of my list were already sold out. Like the Becca Champagne Glow Palette, Stila Eternally Yours Liquid Lipstick Set and Kat Von D Lolita Duo. However, I was still able to snag a few goodies that’ll surely brighten my days well into the new year.
Ever since I ordered Blushed Copper I’ve been developing a huge crush for Becca. At this point, it’s starting to blossom into a full on obsession as I’ve been collecting a lot of Becca products recently. Including this cute Shimmering Skin Perfector Glow on the Go mini highlighting set which includes a travel size Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight and Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal. It’s a golden opal pearl that’s flattering on all complexions. Which makes sense considering it’s Becca best-selling Shimmering Skin Perfector. The minis are a bit small but I know I’ll never finish them and they’re super cute so I’m pretty pleased. Plus, I’ve been swatching Opal at work this week so I already know I’m going to love it!
From the moment I posted about Laura Mercier’s holiday collection I knew I was going to get this palette. It was just too gorgeous! The tiger print inspired packaging paired with a shimmering highlight, blush and bronzer was just too much for me to resist. I’ve read a lot of great things about Laura Mercier’s Matte Radiance Baked Powders (especially Highlight-01) so I thought this would be a great way to finally try them. Then I remembered seeing Ritual Baked Blush Bronze on Charisma a while back and knew I had to have it. It looked so beautiful on her! I finally got a chance to swatch it tonight and I’m already head over heels for it.
Last but certainly not least, is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. If you remember, I wanted this palette back when it was first released as limited edition but had a hard time getting my hands on it. Being a makeup junkie, I thought I was completely over it once Hourglass finally made it permanent but no dice. I found myself yearning for it once again after stumbling across a Temptalia post about the best setting powders for under eye concealer and seeing Hourglass dominate in the comments. My dry under eyes make setting powder a pain so I’m curious to see if a lighter finishing powder may work better for me. I’m also a huge fan of Incandescent and Radiant Light too so I’ll be happy either way. But I have my fingers crossed that Dim Light sets my concealer nicely!
A Sephora order isn’t complete without samples and since it’s holiday time they’ve got the really good stuff. I ended up placing 2 orders so I snagged one of the Party Picks sampler bags in Mistletoe Moments and a deluxe Boscia Black Cleanser. Both were free with a $25 purchase which was a great deal because the Boscia mini is pretty decent size and the Mistletoe Moments Party Picks was loaded.
I’m almost a little salty that I missed out on the other two Party Picks bags because they were filled to the brim with deluxe samples. And not crappy samples either. This is the stuff! Mistletoe Moments included:
- Atelier Cologne Collection Azur Mandarin Glaciale
- Buxom Full & Fabulous Mascara
- Fresh Soy Conditioning Eye Makeup Remover
- Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance 01
- CoverFX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment
- Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner in Black
- Chloe Love Story
- Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Total V Contouring Serum
I do wish I was able to get my hands on a few other things before they sold out but I’m still a very happy camper and I can’t thank Sephora enough for having such an awesome sale every year. It’s always a treat so save a few bucks during the holidays, right?
What did you haul with your Sephora Holiday Reward Card?
