When it comes to limited edition holiday collections I’m usually all about the new shades and products. No repromotes for me! I need all the new stuff like all of the time. Except for this holiday season when Yves Saint Laurent decided to pull an irresistible slip on me. The iconic fashion house created the beautiful Kiss & Love Collection with limited edition boxes and packaging covered in chic kiss prints. How could I not get a lipstick? Or two. ?
Even though all of the lipstick shades were permanent I still had to get my hands on two of them. With Le Fuchsia being my first choice, of course. It’s a bold, bright magenta with a creamy satin finish and Yves Saint Laurent’s signature sweet grape scent. Le Fuchsia was a must have for me because it’s a fun, flirty pink that really pops on my complexion and brightens every look.
Le Fuchsia applies like a dream with a smooth, super creamy, lightweight texture and full coverage. Upon application, there’s a nice juicy sheen that makes my lips look full and plump but Le Fuchsia soon sets after a couple of hours to a satin finish that’s very easy on the lips.
You’d think such a bright color would seriously emphasize flakes or settle into lip lines but Le Fuchsia is surprisingly easy to pull off. The shine really helps mask imperfections and seems to keep the formula from slipping into my fine lines.
Le Fuchsia wears quite comfortably for around 3-4 hours before losing its juicy sheen and fading into a bright hot pink stain that lasts me another 3-4 hours before showing some signs of fading. Of course, Yves Saint Laurent’s Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks cost a pretty penny ($36) but Le Fuchsia is a pink lover’s dream and the Kiss & Love Edition packaging really makes it feel extra special and luxe. I’d say it’s worth shelling out the extra bucks just as a treat for yourself this holiday!
