Ahh, primer. I remember when I used to think that primer was completely unnecessary but now I can’t live without it. Whether you’re dry or oily, primer is an absolute must because it helps your makeup glide on like butter, last longer and just generally look better. There’s a lot of great primers out there but my current fave is theUrban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion.

I purchased the Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion on a whim Black Friday when it was half off at Ulta and it has been my best friend. It’s a moisturizing primer formulated with Matrixyl 300 and hyaluronic spheres to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, minimize the look of fine lines and add a boost of moisture. I don’t have wrinkles but I do struggle with fine dry lines around my mouth and under my eyes that like to eat my foundation and concealer making them look creased so I figured the Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion would be a great fit for me. And it is!

The Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion has a very lightweight gel texture that absorbs rather quickly and feels amazing. It’s lightly moisturizing and seems to plump up my fine lines a bit while adding a radiant glow to my complexion. My foundation and concealer apply and blend like a dream with the Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion and I don’t struggle with creasing as much. I’ve almost given up hope on my perpetually dry eyes since pretty much everything creases on me but the Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion works wonders for my smile lines. In fact, it works so well that I often wear it alone on my no makeup days because it makes my skin look so smooth and glowy.

Since my skin is on the drier side, I don’t really have issues with my foundation fading throughout the day but I know the Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion extends the wear of my makeup because my concealer stays put (even with mild creasing) without looking faded or cakey by the end of the day. My natural blushes even seem to hold on a little longer when I use it. Overall, I think everyone with dry skin needs to try the Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion. Especially during the cold winter months. Trust me. Your skin will thank you!
