NYX Ombre Blush Now Available at Ulta!

NYX Code Breaker, Nude to Me Ombre Blush

Did I mention that NYX has been dominating this spring? Because they certainly are! In case you haven’t been keeping up, NYX has been making huge moves opening standalone boutiques as well as massively expanding their line to go from mass makeup to professional artistry. Which explains some of the big price hikes we’ve been experiencing lately as well as all of the department store dupes and rival products that we get to enjoy this spring. I’m not the biggest fan of the new products but I’m having a little bit of a hard time knocking NYX because the quality is definitely there and they’re quite innovative for a drugstore brand. I can dig it!

NYX Code Breaker, Nude to Me Ombre Blush

Thanks to MAC, ombre blushes have become a huge hit in the makeup world so it was only a matter of time before other brands jumped on board to take a stab at it. NYX is the latest to jump on the bandwagon and from the looks of things they certainly know what they’re doing! When my Ulta updated our massive NYX wall to include all of the new spring goodies one of the first things I ran to swatch (besides the lippies of course) were the new collection of Ombre Blushes. All of them were incredibly pigmented and quite beautiful. There’s 6 shades in the line that are quite tempting but I managed to only walk away with two, Code Breaker and Nude to Me.

NYX Code Breaker Ombre Blush

Code Breaker is a mix of bold fuchsia and vibrant violet that’s absolutely gorgeous in the pan. It reminds me a lot of the allusive MAC Vintage Grape ombre blush that I (along with tons of other makeup junkies) have been lusting over for years. I was quite excited when MAC re-released Ripe Peach and a few other ombre blushes in the Proenza Schouler and Isabel & Ruben Toldeo Collection but I was rather disappointed that Vintage Grape didn’t make a comeback. I’ve never had the pleasure of trying Vintage Grape but judging from the pictures and swatches I’ve seen so far I’d say Code Breaker is a really great dupe. It’s incredibly pigmented with a nice silky texture that’s quite impressive for a drugstore brand. Nice NYX!

NYX Nude to Me Ombre Blush

You know I live for a good nude blush since I pretty much live in bold lip colors so Nude to Me was a no brainer for me. It’s a mix of coppery bronze and warm yellow gold that blends together to create a soft, peachy gold shade that also doubles as a highlighter. I have a lot of blushes and highlighters in my collection but I don’t think I own anything quite like Nude to Me so it was a must have for me. Especially with its silky texture and bold pigmentation. I think Nude to Me would look great on pretty much anyone with a warm complexion but I think WOC will really love it as an everyday blush. Or highlighter or bronzer. Nude to Me is incredibly versatile so I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of it.

Can you tell NYX is really stepping their game up?? Ombre blushes are nothing new but I’m loving that I can now pick one up for just $10 (or less with a coupon) and they’re just as comparable to my higher end MAC blushes. I’m quite impressed! If you’ve been on the hunt for a good ombre blush without breaking the bank I totally recommend heading to your local Ulta to check out the new NYX Ombre Blushes for spring.
