I almost always get excited about limited edition collections but when I heard that ColourPop was collaborating with Karrueche I had to roll my eyes a little. Not just because I’m a huge Rihanna fan but also because I’ve never paid much attention to Karrueche’s makeup and I honestly didn’t think anyone else did either. It just felt like a random collab that I didn’t think was going to be anything spectacular but ColourPop and Karrueche managed to create a beautiful collection that had me wanting almost every piece. Sorry Riri!
Karrueche’s collection featured 3 Ultra Matte Lipsticks including:
- Chi cool tone nude beige
- Kae deep warm yellow brown
- Rooch deepened russet wine
After seeing swatches on Instagram, I thought all 3 shades were just too beautiful not to order. They’re very edgy yet wearable colors that’ll flatter both light and deep complexions so it’s no surprise that they’re so popular. I was the most excited to get my hands on Rooch because of the slight copper sheen everyone’s been raving about but I really like Chi and Kae too. They’re both gorgeous nudes with an edge that I just know I’m going to love.
I also ordered Glo Up Super Shock Cheek. It’s described as a rich gold with flashes of golden copper with a pearlized finish. Glo Up is an absolutely stunning highlight that definitely lives up to its name. Glo Up practically dances in the light with its chunky flecks of golden copper shimmer and gorgeous bronze base. I think it’ll look good on a variety of complexions but it’s certainly going to shine and pop the most on darker complexions. I was pretty excited about the lipsticks but I think I was the most excited to finally get my hands on Glo Up because it’s so up my alley and I’m like the biggest highlight junkie ever. I can’t wait to wear it tomorrow!
I also received a couple of free goodies from ColourPop when I ordered from the Karreuche collection. ColourPop recently reached 2 million followers on Instagram and decided to create a limited edition Lippie Stix called Poppin’ in their Matte X formula to help them celebrate. Poppin’ was a really cool way for ColourPop to show a little love to their supporters because it’s a beautiful lipstick that looks good on everyone and the formula is really nice too. Poppin’ is an intense berry fuchsia with a matte finish that’s bright, bold and creamy. It glides on smoothly and it doesn’t seem to dry out my lips too much. ColourPop recently came out with a limited edition red Matte X Lippie Stix not too long ago so I have my fingers crossed that a line of them are on the horizon. The Matte X formula reminds me of MAC’s Retro Matte formula without the dry texture and slight tugging and it seems a little easier on the lips too. ColorPop definitely needs to drop a line of them asap!
I also received a free Lippie To Go in the shade Bossy because ColourPop took so long to process and send my order. I usually receive a shipping notification within a few days but it took almost a week for ColourPop to send out my order which is probably because it was in the midst of the Ultra Satin Lip and Brow Colour launch which was insane. I wasn’t too upset about it because I’ve been hauling my ass off at Ulta anyway but I did think it was nice that ColourPop wanted to kiss and make up with a free lippie. The Lippie To Go features a mini Lippie Pencil and Lippie Stix in the shade Bossy, a classic tomato red. I’m not the biggest red lip fan but I think it’s a really cute red that pops against my complexion and would beautiful paired with a vampy lip liner. Thanks ColourPop!
