When it comes to brows, Anastasia Beverly Hills is the queen. Hands down! Her brow products have a massive cult following because they’re oh so good. I’ve been a huge fan of the Dipbrow Pomade for years now after discovering just how amazing it is for sparse brows and all day wear. Now I’m becoming a big fan of the new Brow Definer pencil she recently added to her brow empire. The Brow Definer is a retractable pencil that’s similar to the Brow Wiz pencil except it’s chubbier and features a triangular tip that allows a more versatile application and covers more ground.
I ended up with the shade Dark Brown which is a warm dark brown that lightly defines my brows without looking too harsh. The formula appears to be pretty much the same as the Brow Wiz formula as it’s moderately pigmented with a slightly dry texture and powdery finish that blends in easily and looks natural as it mimics brow hairs. To be honest, I wasn’t a fan of the Brow Wiz pencil when I first tried it because it just seemed too sheer and didn’t offer enough coverage for my sparse brows. However, the Brow Definer and its triangular tip seems to have better color coverage as it’s a pinch more pigmented and allows me to press a little harder without the tip breaking. I still like to use my Dipbrow Pomade to outline and define my brows but the Brow Definer works well to fill them for a softer, more natural finish. In fact, I love pairing the two together to fill in my brows these days because the Brow Definer is faster and a bit easier to use resulting in natural brows that doesn’t take 15 minutes to perfect.
The Brow Definer isn’t waterproof like the Dipbrow Pomade but it still wears very well on me. The Brow Definer hangs on for well over 10 hours without smudging or fading. I can’t see it ever replacing my precious Dipbrow Pomade but the Brow Definer definitely has a place in my collection as a helping hand for Dipbrow. Like Brow Wiz, I still don’t think the Brow Definer offers enough coverage for my sparse brows but I can see it working wonders for ladies with fuller brows that need an extra boost. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer is definitely worth a try!
