If I had to sum up April in one word it would probably be: haul. I hauled a lot of new stuff last month. Between Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty and all of the spring and summer collections seemingly dropping at once I just couldn’t help myself. April definitely ate up a lot of my coins! On the bright side, I got to try a lot of different new products that I ended up loving and getting a lot of use from. In fact, I discovered a few products that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to live without again. So I’d say April was quite a success! Here’s a rundown on all of my favorite products last month:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Gleam Glow Kit I’m pretty sure you know by now that I’m absolutely addicted to highlighters so it was only a matter of time before one (or two) of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kits made their way into my collection. I was hell bent on getting That Glow but after swatching Gleam at Ulta I realized that I needed this unique collection of highlighters in my life. Gleam is a mostly cool, pink toned collection of highlighters with a natural, satin-y glow that can easily be built up to make cheeks look like they’ve been dipped in pink gold. I pretty much lived out the Gleam Glow Kit because there’s so many options and it’s so versatile. I loved having 4 different highlighters all in once place to wear alone, mixed together or even as eyeshadows. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Gleam Glow Kit is easily one of my favorite purchases last month.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Defintion Pressed Finishing Powder in Naked Dark I’ve been sitting on this powder for months feeling so-so about it until I finally decided to try it out as a setting powder for my foundation. Now I can’t stop wearing it! The Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder is very lightweight with sheer, natural coverage that gives foundation a softer, smoother appearance by lightly blurring fine lines and imperfections while ensuring that my foundation looks good all day long. I’ve been wearing Too Faced Born This Way Foundation for months now and have always received compliments on how nice it looks on me. However, the first time I set it with the Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder tons of people kept asking me what I was wearing because it looked so flawless. Even my coworkers thought I switched foundations. That’s how amazing it is!
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder I’ve struggled with setting powders for years as they’ve always accentuated my dry eyes and fine lines and never really helped much when it came to the inevitable creasing of my concealer. That is, until I came across the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder. It’s the silkiest translucent powder I’ve ever tried in my life! It has a soft, finely milled texture that feels incredibly silky and works like a charm on my dry eyes. The Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro Powder never looks dry or cakey and it helps lock my concealer in place all day. It also has a nice blurring effect that leaves my eyes looking smooth and airbrushed–even in pictures. Translucent powders used to scare me but now I rely heavily on the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder. It’s the bomb!
Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo in Warm Glow Too Faced has definitely grown on me this year with their spring and summer releases prompting to me to pretty much buy all the stuff. The new Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo in Warm Glow was one of many products that caught my eye. It features two highlighters in one: a champagne gold and peachy gold. They’re not the most unique highlighters in the world but the fact that the halves are large enough to use separately or swirled together for an immaculate golden glow makes Candlelight Glow Warm Glow a winner. The first time I wore Warm Glow I was blown away by how pronounced the golden sheen was and how natural it still managed to look–even built up. I soon got hooked on how beautiful it looked and ended up reaching for Candlelight Warm Glow for weeks.
Milani Lash Trifecta Mascara I don’t usually get too worked up over mascara because my lashes are so darn short but Milani had me hooked on their wonderful Lash Trifecta Mascara all month. Lash Trifecta separates, lengthens and curls lashes very well leaving my short, bushy lashes looking long, elegant and tamed. On my no makeup days, I would reach for Lash Trifecta to really make my eyes pop and give me that girly flair I crave without needing to pop on falsies. Even when I would wear falsies, I’d still reach for Lash Trifecta because it really helped smooth out my unruly lashes and helped them blend into my falsies much better for an easier, more seamless application. I would even add a couple coats to my bottom lashes to really pull my eye looks together and make my eyes look super flirty and doll like. Basically, I couldn’t put down the Milani Lash Trifecta Mascara at all last month.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Mahogany I live for a smooth, flawless complexion so I quickly found myself addicted to the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation with it’s natural, satin finish and medium to full coverage. I typically prefer light coverage but Born This Way looks so unbelievably natural that I’ve been wearing it pretty much everyday. The formula is super creamy, easy to blend and works well on my dry skin lasting all day without looking cakey. Mahogany turned out to be an excellent match for my complexion as its strong warm, red undertones fit me like a glove. Every time I wear it, I get tons of compliments on my skin or have people wondering if I’m even wearing foundation at all. Born This Way is quickly creeping into holy grail status.
Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Eyeshadow Palette Warm orange-toned browns and pretty purples are definitely my jam when it comes to eyeshadows so I didn’t hesitate a second to scoop up the new Peanut Butter and Jelly Eyeshadow Palette. It features my all time favorite transition shade, Peanut Butter, from the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette and a handful of other warm neutrals like champagne, gold and even a couple purples to easily whip up a look that’s as delicious as a pb & j. I reached for the Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette a lot last month because Peanut Butter and Nuts About U made it way too easy to create quick everyday looks by simply pairing them with one (or both) of the purples or lighter shades. Peanut Butter and Jelly is easily one of my new favorite everyday eyeshadow palettes.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette Too Faced basically broke the internet with the release of the limited edition Sweet Peach Palette and I can definitely see why! I thought the Sweet Peach Palette would be all hype when sneak peeks started rolling out on Instagram but once I saw this beauty in person I knew it was coming home with me. Sweet Peach has a rather nice range of neutrals and subtle pops of color that can be worn all year round. I had a hard time putting it down once I got my hands on it because it contains so many beautiful crease shades making it crazy versatile and incredibly wearable. I don’t have to pull out any other shadows to create a full look with Sweet Peach because it can easily go from day to night with ease. If I had to choose just one palette to live with for the rest of my life Sweet Peach would be my choice with the Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette being a very close second.
