Glowing Glam in Red
I’ll probably always be a hardcore lipstick junkie but lately I’ve been super obsessed with highlighters and all things glow. A poppin’ highlight and a soft, dewy complexion is my go to look this summer. I’ve already shown you my summer glow essentials that I love whipping out to make me glow to the moon and back. However, it struck me that it would also be a good idea to share with you how I put it all together too.
Achieving a radiant, dewy complexion is all about layering your favorite glow goodies to create a beautiful all over glow that brightens your skin and adds a soft luminous glow all over. If you’re dry (like me), starting off with a brightening or hydrating primer is a great start while oily skin will benefit more from using a mattifying primer or oil control lotion to control the glow factor. To create my soft, glowing glam look, I primed with Smashbox Primer Oil to give my skin a rich moisture boost and natural glow while filling in my pesky fine lines a bit. Next, I mixed a little of Becca Topaz Shimmering Skin Perfector into my Too Faced Born This Way Foundation to give me a luminous, dewy glow all over. Then I set it with my Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder to lock it all in place and make sure my glowing skin would last me all day in this muggy Michigan heat. Even though I was glowing all over I couldn’t help but to top it all off a good highlighter. Using my fan brush, I swept a bit of my MAC Otherearthly Mineralize Skinfinish highlighter to give me a pronounced golden glow. Since my look was pretty natural, I decided to glam it up by adding a pretty red lip. I lined my lips with ColourPop Ellarie Lippie Pencil and then applied Maybelline Rebel Red Vivd Matte Liquid Lip Color to tie everything together for a glowing glam look that’s effortlessly beautiful.
