I don’t know about you but I just love sales! A few weeks ago, Tarte was feeling super generous with a 30% off sitewide sale. Most times, I take sitewide sales with a grain of salt because they don’t actually include everything on the site like the name implies. Especially Tarte’s. Tarte is known for handing out discount codes like Oprah hands out cars that you can’t even use on the really good stuff like their new or limited edition products. This time around, though, things were different. You could actually take 30% off sitewide. No gimmicks! So I did what any normal makeup junkie would do. I ordered up all of the new stuff I wanted and then tossed in a blush for good measure.
At the moment, I had been hauling makeup left and right from Ulta so I didn’t want to go too crazy. For staters, I only ordered one Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Twerk (a vibrant fuchsia) to go along with the Yaassss (bright lavender) I received in my goodie bag from Ipsy Gen Beauty LA and the mini TBT (warm mauve brown) I got as a gift with purchase at Ulta. So now I have a mini Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint Collection that’s super cute and speaks to all of my moods. When I’m feeling bold and daring, I can slip on Yaasss with my trusty MAC Cyber World Pencil for an edgy pop of color. If I’m feeling fun and flirty, I can rock Twerk and bring all the boys to the yard with my milkshake. Or I can just wear TBT when I’m heading to work or feeling sexy in a killer smokey eye or wicked sharp contour. The Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paints are Tarte’s version of a liquid matte lipstick without the extreme ultra matte dry down. The formula applies smoothly with a matte finish from the beginning that doesn’t completely dry down so it’s not quite as drying as a typical liquid matte lipstick. The Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paints are a little more thick than most liquid lipsticks but I dig the formula so far. It’s not too shabby!
Since Tarte was finally giving us free reign to save a few coins on new products too I went ahead and ordered 3 of the new Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tints in:
- Undressed deep rosy brown
- Envy mauve berry
- Whisper rosy beige
Every now and then, I like to rock nudes back to back because they can be super easy to slip on and go depending on the shade. The Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tints include a nice range of nudes that are widely flattering on a variety of skin tones with some beautiful shades that compliment my brown skin well without having to line my lips for days to make them work. Out of the shades I picked, my favorite so far is Undressed as it’s incredibly easy to wear and I just love brown lips. It’s a great nude lip that pairs well with all my favorite blushes and any eyeshadow look I toss at it. I also love that the formula is creamy and easy to wear which isn’t always the norm for matte nudes. I definitely think the Lippie Lingerie Matte Lip Tints are going to be a win for me!
You can’t rock a cute lip without pairing it with a cute blush too. So I decided to try something a little different from my typical rosy brown nudes and ordered Tipsy Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush. Tipsy is a soft pinky coral with a matte finish that gives my brown skin a little more pop than I’m used to. Which is great now that summer is here and I could use a good blush to really brighten my cheeks after a bunch of contouring. Tipsy is a little out of my comfort zone but I really like how it looks. Thanks to the Amazonian Clay formula, Tipsy is sheer yet very buildable so it shows up well on brown skin without fear of clown cheeks. I think Tipsy is a rather nice summer blush that should definitely be checked out!
