Happy hump day! I hope you’re having a good week so far. If not, let’s turn it around with some pink! Usually I show you a nice pink lipstick or blush (or both) but this week I wanted to put the spotlight on skincare. I’ve said it a million times already, but summer is the ideal time of year to make sure you have a healthy, clear complexion that looks smooth, even and radiant. One of the most important tools in your summer arsenal to achieve that healthy, glowing complexion is toner. A good toner will help remove extra dirt, oil and makeup your cleanser left over, balance your skin, strengthen your moisture barrier and even offer some antioxidant protection against the environment in some cases. Toner is a really powerful product that is essential for summer because we spend so much more time outdoors soaking in all the sun, free radicals, environmental pollution and more.
Sounds gross right? I know! The upside is that toner helps to rid your skin of it all in one quick sweep of a cotton pad. I’ve tried a few different toners including my old time favorite, Chanel Lotion Douceur Gentle Hydrating Toner. Lotion Douceur is a light, gentle formula that’s great for dry, sensitive skin that needs a little extra care. It’s formulated with Tulip Tree extract and Mallow extract to help purge the skin of impurities soaked in from environmental pollution and soothe stressed skin while adding a bit of moisture. Chanel’s Lotion Douceur was the first toner I ever fell in love with because it made my skin feel squeaky clean and incredibly soft allowing my skincare products to absorb quickly and more efficiently and making my skin look and feel more soft and supple. As you can probably tell, Lotion Douceur was a staple in my routine to keep my complexion clear and healthy. That’s why my bottle is so close to empty! The Chanel Lotion Douceur Gentle Hydrating Toner is a bit pricey at $45 but I assure you it’s worth every penny if you want to keep your skin clean and hydrated this summer. Plus it’s pink!
