For most people, blush isn’t the most necessary product for a complete makeup look. However, we all need a little blush to brighten, lift and add a nice touch of color to the face. Especially in the summer! Bronzers typically take center stage in the summer but it’s important to make sure you incorporate a little blush too to give you that naturally flushed rush of color that just screams color. I’m not going to lie to you. I don’t always wear blush every time I wear makeup but I always feel sassier and more pulled together when my cheeks are topped with a nice blush that sets everything off. Like a nice shimmering blush that amplifies my highlight and makes me look sunkissed and rosy. That’s why I’ve put together this handy shimmering blush guide to help you perk up those cheeks this season. Let’s get started, shall we?

Sephora Hot Flush Colorful Blush

Sephora Hot Flush Colorful Blush ($14.00)

Finding a good blush for brown skin can be scary. Most dark skin divas automatically think clown cheeks when they think of blush and immediately get turned off. However, there are certain blush shades that brown skin can pull off effortlessly that’ll always look natural and brown skin friendly. Like orange. Orange blushes work like a charm to add warmth and a subtle flush of color to cheeks without overpowering the rest of your makeup or competing with your lip color. Sephora Hot Flush Colorful Blush is a great option for my dark skin divas because it looks super natural yet still brightens the face and adds a nice sheen to cheeks. Hot Flush is vibrant brunt orange with a hint of shimmer and a very soft, silky texture that’s incredibly easy to blend and practically melts into skin. It’s a great option for ladies who don’t want too much color but still want to balance out her makeup and add a little warmth this summer.

Milani Blossomtime Rose Blush

Milani Blossomtime Rose Blush ($8.99)

Milani Blossomtime Rose is another blush that’s soft, subtle and perfect for everyday summer looks. Blossomtime Rose is a soft pinky coral with fine golden shimmer that looks great on all skin tones. It’s a very natural blush with sheer, buildable coverage that’s easy to apply without overdoing it. Blossomtime Rose can get a little powdery but it doesn’t look dry or chalky when applied and it’s still pretty easy to blend too. Blossomtime Rose Blush is a great budget beauty blush for ladies who don’t like to splurge yet still want an easy to wear blush that’s soft and pretty.

Becca combined the amazing glowing goodness from the iconic Shimmering Skin Perfectors with their silky, smooth Mineral Blushes to create a blush that easily brightens cheeks with a little color and some serious glow. Foxglove was my top pick from the line because it pairs nicely with all of my favorite pink lipsticks from bold to neutral and allows me to skip the highlighter on the days I’m in a rush. Milani Bella Amore Baked Blush

Milani Bella Amore Baked Blush ($8.49)

Milani’s Baked Blushes are an old time favorite of mine because they’re beautiful, easy to apply and incredibly affordable. It can be hard to believe that you can find a great quality blush for under $10 but Milani definitely made it possible with their line of Baked Blushes. One of my go to shades for summer is Bella Amore, a soft mauvey pink with golden shimmer. It has a soft, silky texture and natural finish that looks beautiful on the skin and blends like a dream. Bella Amore is another great everyday summer blush that adds just the right amount of color to liven up your complexion but it’s still muted and natural enough to pair with any kind of look or lippie. It’s a great option for the natural crowd or the intense smoky eye lover.
