If I had a dollar for every palette that I swore I didn’t want or need I’d have enough money to buy the next new palette. Probably 3 times over. LOL! I’m quick to try (keyword here) to resist the next new, hot eyeshadow palette but sometimes it just happens. This was definitely the case with the new limited edition Tarte x Grav3Yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette. When it first launched online, my initial reaction was, “Who the heck is Grav3Yard Girl??” I soon learned that she’s a wonderful YouTube vlogger with a lot of personality and now a smokin’ hot palette to share with her Swamp Family and the rest of us makeup junkies.
I didn’t think much of the Grav3Yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette at first but once I got a chance to see it in person I started to like it a little. The eyeshadows are pretty dupable and the bronzer, blush and highlight aren’t the most unique shades on the block either but the Swamp Queen Palette still had a nice flair about it that made me eventually snatch it up. The Grav3Yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette features 9 warm, neutral eyeshadows and a bronzer, blush and highlighter that are all suitable for pretty much any skin tone with warm undertones. The Grav3yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette includes:
- #SFS rose gold
- Natural Peaches peachy nude
- Dogman burnt sienna
- Big Baby cream
- Sassy Bun copper peach
- Sippy Sippy glittery brown
- Haunting lavender
- Uncommon purple slate
- Mancat deep plum
- Sweet Tea matte bronze (bronzer)
- Does This Thing Really Work? shimmering plum (blush)
- Gator Wings champagne gold (highlighter)
Even though Bunny (aka Grav3Yard Girl) is on the lighter end of the spectrum she still managed to create a palette that looks beautiful on brown skin too. I gotta give her props for that! That’s what really pushed me to go ahead and give the Grav3Yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette a try. All of the eyeshadows work beautifully with my complexion and the cheek products work surprisingly well too. I thought the Sweet Tea bronzer would be too light but it ends up looking much darker once applied. I especially love the blush and the highlighter though. Does This Thing Really Work? is like the perfect everyday berry bush for me and Gator Wings easily gives the most stunning out of this world golden glow.
Even though the Grav3Yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette isn’t super duper unique I have to give Bunny and Tarte their props for creating a palette that’s beautiful, incredibly convenient and inclusive of many skin tones. The log inspired packaging makes the palette a teeny bit bulky but it’s still very pretty and lightweight so it’s a good option for travel as it doesn’t take up a ton of space and it comes loaded with bronzer, blush and highlighter too. I also love the fact that it comes with a huge mirror with a quote that reads, “Believe in yourself. Love yourself. Embrace your individuality.” That’s exactly the kind of inspiration a girl needs when staring at her reflection and creating her unique look. Two snaps for you, Bunny!
The Tarte x Grav3Yard Girl Swamp Queen Palette is limited edition so it’s sold out online (of course) but it seems to still be available in some Ulta and Sephora stores. If you’ve been hesitant to grab it I highly recommend checking out your local Ulta or Sephora to see it in action for yourself and grab one too before it’s all gone!
