Too Faced’s Melted Lipsticks Get Matte at Ulta

Too Faced Queen B and Unicorn Melted Matte Liquified Lipstick

You ready to go matte? I sure hope so! Sephora’s reign over the new Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Lipsticks is finally over which means they’re not available online and in stores at Ulta. Yaasss! There’s still a few shades that are exclusive to Sephora but the rest of the gang is now sitting pretty at Ulta which gave me an excuse to finally give them a try. ‘Cause you know me. I love a good liquid lipstick!

I really wish all of the Too Faced Melted Matte Lipsticks made their way over to Ulta but I’m still grateful that 13 of them decided to show their pretty faces so I could rack up and redeem points for them. Naturally, I want quite a few of the new Melted Matte Lipsticks but I’m starting off slow with just 2. My first pick was Queen B, a cool pinky mauve, and Unicorn, a bright violet. Neither lipsticks are crazy unique but they’re pretty colors that look great on my skin tone and are very easy to wear. Queen B is a little light to wear on its own but it looks amazing paired with a deep brown or plum lip liner. Unicorn is a little more effortless to wear as it doesn’t really require a lip liner for me and it really pops against my brown skin.

After so many matte liquid lipstick releases over the last 2 years I know you’re probably thinking, “What makes Too Faced’s Melted Matte Lipsticks any different?” I thought the same thing when the Melted Matte Lipsticks finally launched. Honestly, they’re not incredibly different from any other matte liquid lipstick on the market. They sport a creamy, mousse-like texture that goes on like a gloss and then sets to a matte finish. The major difference seems to be that they’re not quite as drying as other liquid lipsticks I’ve grown to love. Like ColourPop. I live for ColourPop’s Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks but they can get pretty drying as they wear off. Too Faced’s formula on the other hand is much more forgiving and is infused with a no-sting lip plumper so lips always look full and never shriveled or cracked. I have to admit that Too Faced is a little late to the party but I have to admit that the Melted Matte Lipsticks are probably one of the best matte liquid lipstick formulas I’ve tried yet. Queen B and Unicorn wear rather comfortably for around 7 hours before beginning to fade into a slightly patchy stain. The color range isn’t super spectacular but the formula really sets Too Faced apart. Whether you have a massive liquid lipstick collection or happen to be a newbie I think the Too Faced Melted Matte Lipsticks are worth checking out.
