Urban Decay Gets Razor Sharp!

In life, there are certain things that some people are just better at than others. There are people who are great at sports. Or math and science. Or applying liquid liner. There’s a special set of skills you need for sports, math, science and liquid liner. I have none of them. Physically, I’m the laziest person you’ll ever meet. You’ll never see me kick a ball or run a mile. And math and science? Forget about it! I need a calculator and cheat sheet next to me at all times to be at least halfway decent. Liquid liner is no different. You’d think it’s not as complicated as sports, math or science but applying liquid liner is always a struggly situation for me.

There’s either too much product on the brush. Or not enough product on the felt tips so it streaks. Or my favorite (insert sarcasm) when I try to create a wing and it skips and drags or globs all over the place. Liquid liner is just the struggle for me! I like to use the felt tip ones, like Stila’s and Too Faced’s, for a quick swipe to help my falsies blend in but I can never quite master the regular ol’ brush ones.

Bottom line, I’m liquid liner impaired. I just can’t master a smooth application with them like I want. However, if you’re one of those special kind of people that are talented enough to conquer liquid liner then you’ll probably love Urban Decay’s new Razor Sharp Ling-Wear Liquid Eyeliners. It’s a new formula for fall that sports 20 colorful shades ranging from shimmer to matte with an ink well design and super slim brush. The Razor Sharp Eyeliners are a liquid liner lovers (say that fast 3 times LOL!) dream as they’re incredibly intense with a very precise brush and a beautiful shade range to match your every mood.

I received two of them for gratis at work and I’m not gonna lie. They put the fear in me. I could already feel my hands shaking in anticipation when I received them. But I was determined to see if Urban Decay could cure my liquid liner fear with the new Razor Sharp Eyeliners. They didn’t. Sorry Urban Decay! Even with a steady hand, I found myself applying way too much at once getting eyeliner into my inner corner, smudging it on my lids and messing up my wing with too wide strokes. I still can’t get it right.

I received the shades, Perversion, an intense vinyl black, and Retrograde, a blackened plum with purple shimmer. They’re both gorgeous when applied correctly which is why I think they’re best reserved for liquid liner pros. I wouldn’t recommend them for beginners or the liquid liner impaired because they definitely take some practice and experience to nail. I only pull out my Razor Sharp Liners when I want to trace over my already perfect cat eye to make it more intense or better blend the band of my falsies.

Liquid liner pros are bound to have much better luck with Urban Decay’s Razor Sharp Eyeliners though. The applicator brush is small and very precise with a little flexibility that makes it easy to maneuver. As long as you’re experienced, of course. The formula is also intensely pigmented so you don’t have to build much at all leaving you with more time to blend your eyeshadow until your heart’s content. I also find that it lasts pretty well throughout the day. When I could muster a straight line using the Razor Sharp Eyeliners alone they would last me over 8 hours without smudging, fading or flaking off. Not even when my eyes watered from my allergies. Despite the long wear, the Razor Sharp Eyeliners are very easy to remove as they pretty much peel right off once you wash your face. Honestly, Urban Decay’s new Razor Sharp Eyeliners aren’t too shabby at all. I’m a little biased against liquid liners like these because I can never get them to work for me but I still think Urban Decay did a pretty great job with these. I definitely recommend them if you’re a liquid liner pro!
