The holiday season is fully upon us and the palettes and sets are rolling in heavy! I saved up thousands of Ultamate Rewards points just so I could lose my mind (guilt free) on all of the incredibly amazing holiday goodies popping up this year. There were quite a few sets and palettes that I knew I wanted for sure but there was one palette that I just kept going back and forth on. The LORAC Mega Pro 3 Palette has been a huge hit on social media since its release but I wasn’t quite convinced that I needed it.
“The colors are super dupable.”
“Hmmm some of those mattes look too pale.”
“There’s too many mixed reviews among other brown girls”
“I’m just gonna pass.”
There’s a ton of reasons to make all of your beauty purchases at Ulta but the best one is the rewards program. Hands down! Racking up points at Ulta doesn’t just get you deluxe samples or impossibly hard to get mega sets. Shade but no shade. Sorry Sephora. I’ma let you finish but Ulta has the best rewards program around! Instead of getting deluxe samples of goodies you’d essentially receive for free elsewhere Ulta rewards you with dollars off your next purchase. The more points you have the better!
I’ve been spending up a storm over the last few months at Ulta but it’s all paid off because I was able to score almost all of the new limited edition holiday sets and palettes on my list without breaking the bank. I let my points stack up to 2,300 and redeemed them for $133 off. Talk about win! I couldn’t wait to grab a grey bag and fill it up with my top holiday picks so far this year.
Too Faced is killing me with cuteness! I almost want to write a letter to Jerrod and tell him to stop creating cute palettes for at least 6 months so we all can chill out for a second and save our money for once. I don’t know about you but I’m becoming a bit of a Too Faced fiend. The cute packaging sucks me in every time and their buttery, pigmented eyeshadow formula hooks me while the delicious scents put the final nail in the coffin. I already own all 3 of the Chocolate Bar Palettes and the Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette but now I’m curious to see what’s inside Too Faced’s upcoming Peanut Butter and Honey Palette. Because I’m already sure that I’m going to need it. Jerrod Blandino (Too Faced owner) let the cat out of the bag that the Peanut Butter and Honey Palette is coming soon to Ulta for Spring but didn’t give us a peek inside or an actual release date just yet but I have a feeling that it’s going to be beautiful and a huge hit. Here’s to hoping that the Sweet Peach Collection doesn’t break us all so we’ll still have money left for the Peanut Butter and Honey Palette!
Tarte is known for being your friendly, natural based everyday makeup brand. But this year Tarte seems to be taking their products to the next level. That’s right. Tarte is going Pro! Tarte surprised us all over the weekend when they randomly dropped 2 new palettes and an entire new line of lipsticks on us out of the blue. The madness started when Tarte sent some of our favorite YouTubers (like MakeupShayla) to Bora Bora for what seemed like just a nice, killer vacation but it turned out to be a pre-release party of some sorts. Snapchat stories went from boat parties and jet skiing to swatches of new palettes that just magically appeared on Tarte’s website. Well played, Tarte!
Hey girl! It’s been a few days since I’ve touched base with you and I’m feeling a little bad about that. If you follow me on Twitter and Snapchat (you should to see goodies first!) then you’ve probably been waiting on my Ulta holiday haul posts that I’ve been teasing you with for almost a week. I’ve just been so busy, girl! I’m getting back into the swing of things though and I want to give you a chance to win a couple of my favorite skincare goodies as my way of saying sorry for the wait. ‘Cause free gifts always make an apology better, right?
When you’re constantly being bombarded with pretty images of new releases and bomb new collections from uber popular brands it can be hard to see the beauty in other brands. It literally took me years to wean myself off MAC and now my eyes are open to the endless world of wonderful makeup brands out there that don’t always get a ton of love. Like Makeup Revolution. Makeup Revolution is probably more popular in it’s hometown of London but over the pond it’s just starting to get a little shine thanks to the geniuses at Ulta who exclusively launched the line in stores here in the US. Good move, Ulta!
Now we aren’t forced to order Makeup Revolution goodies online and then wait for them to cross the 7 seas to revel in its affordable goodness. You can simply waltz in Ulta, grab a palette or lipstick off the shelf and then be on your merry way without spending all your coins. Doesn’t that sound like a dream come true?
A holiday collection filled with stars, glitter and pink? YASSSSS, MAC! Give it all to me! I used to be a straight up MAC addict when I first got into makeup but I’ve grown tired of their endless collections over the last few years. They just weren’t doing it for me. But this year MAC is bringing the heat! First, I got sucked into the Chris Chang Collection. Then I got hooked on the Taraji Collection. Now I’m dying to throw all of my money at MAC this holiday season with the upcoming Nutcracker Sweet Collection. It’s so cute!
Leap into a magical land that’s a bit nutty, a little naughty, and bursting with whimsy. Lose yourself in an eccentric kingdom of oversized treats and rosy-cheeked nutcrackers. Twist, turn and tumble deeper into the Land of Dolls. Our story has only begun…
Let’s take a quick break from all these incredibly tempting new fall and holiday collections. Shall we? I don’t know about you but my head is spinning from all the newness in the beauty world right now. It’s so overwhelming! Lately, I’ve been finding myself spending and spending on more and more makeup that I don’t need. But I love shiny new things so I can never quite help myself.
I’ve been trying to keep myself a little grounded a little bit by exploring some old goodies in my collection and showing lots of love to the newer stuff that I’ve been buying and it’s been helping. Somewhat. Last month, I found myself reaching for a few of the same products every time I did my makeup. Which is nice because I got a chance to really appreciate some products that deserved lots of love and attention.
