Tarte Invites You to Rethink Natural this Fall!

Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette

Tarte is known for being your friendly, natural based everyday makeup brand. But this year Tarte seems to be taking their products to the next level. That’s right. Tarte is going Pro! Tarte surprised us all over the weekend when they randomly dropped 2 new palettes and an entire new line of lipsticks on us out of the blue. The madness started when Tarte sent some of our favorite YouTubers (like MakeupShayla) to Bora Bora for what seemed like just a nice, killer vacation but it turned out to be a pre-release party of some sorts. Snapchat stories went from boat parties and jet skiing to swatches of new palettes that just magically appeared on Tarte’s website. Well played, Tarte!

The first sneak peek to drop was the new Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette which features 16 matte and 4 shimmers in a range of neutrals. The layout and color scheme reminds me a bit of the Tartelette palettes combined but with a little more variety and the convenience of having a little more shimmer. There’s also some new packaging too. The colorful Tartelette palettes with their beautiful gold accents were nice but Tarte wanted to take a more professional approach with the Rethink Natural lineup so the new Tarteist Pro Amazonian Clay Palette features a rubbery matte black casing that seems to be similar to that of NARS. I’m kinda digging Tarte’s Pro approach because they’ve really seemed to step up their game over the years and the brand seems to be heading the right direction.

Before I tried the Tartelette palettes, I would always read reviews about how sheer, chalky and difficult Tarte’s eyeshadows used to be. It appears that the Tartelette palettes sport a different formula that’s much more pigmented, buttery and easier to blend making them a couple of my all time favorite palettes. From the quick bits and pieces I’ve gathered on Snapchat, the new Tarteist Amazonian Clay Palette features the same eyeshadow formula as the Tartelette palettes and smells like chocolate. Yay and yum!

Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight & Contour Palette

Tarte recently jumped into the highlighter game with the new Exposed Amazonian Clay Highlighter but they’re now going full force with their latest Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette. The Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette features 4 highlighters, a sculpting cream and a sculpting powder to help ladies and gents of all skin tones highlight and contour for the gods–the Tarte way. The highlighters are all shades of gold and the sculpting cream and powder are more on the neutral side so I can see them working well for a variety of skin tones. I don’t think the Shade and Sculpt shades are going to look too hot on us dark skin divas though. I’m curious to see MakeupShayla swatch and wear them until I decide whether or not this palette will be added to my collection.

Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint

Tarte also seems to be revamping their Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint lineup with the addition of the new Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paints. A lot of people weren’t fans of Tarte’s original Creamy Matte Lip Paint formula because it takes a much longer time to fully dry down (versus traditional liquid lipsticks) and they transferred pretty easily as well as applied unevenly depending on the shade. I have a few of the Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paints and I’m a fan of the formula but I do agree that they could be a little better. It seems that Tarte has taken our feedback into consideration because the new Tarteist Lip Paints promise a much faster dry down and a more budge-proof wear than the original formula. I’m looking forward to these hitting Ulta soon so I can check them out for myself.
