January Empties!

It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer, Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Face Serum, Prada Candy Eau de Parfum, Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream, Bare Minerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion

Let’s take a quick break from Project BOMB, shall we? You’ve probably noticed that I’ve picked up a ton of new goodies in the last few months but what you probably didn’t know is that I’ve also been determined to start using what’s already in my stash more. Whether you’re a beauty blogger or beauty enthusiast, it’s easy to get caught up in the hype of the hottest shiny new product but what really matters is actually using the stuff. No sense in wasting money on things you won’t use, right?

With this logic in mind, I decided to start going hard with a few products that I knew I could finish up with a little consistency and determination. In just a few months, I managed to finish up a handful of beauty products. Woo hoo! Most of it was skincare, of course, but I’m still pretty impressed that I was able to stick with these products for so long. Here’s a rundown of my January empties:

It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer

It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer

It Cosmetics is still a fairly new brand to me but I’ve been exploring the brand more and more since I’ve started working at Ulta. After a super informative training session with It Cosmetics, I was gifted with their popular No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer to try  for myself. The It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer is a hydrating anti-aging serum formulated with over 50 peptides, essential oils, vitamins and more. It’s designed to hydrate, smooth, plump and address those pesky signs of aging (like fine lines and wrinkles) all while prepping your skin for a smooth, flawless makeup application. To be completely honest, I felt the No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer was just okay. I like it as a serum as I find it’s pretty hydrating and absorbs rather quickly. However, I was disappointed that it didn’t really plump up my fine lines like I wanted.

The No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer really just gave my skin some much needed extra moisture. Which I can’t knock because my skin has been so dry this winter. However, for an “anti-aging collagen primer”, I was expecting to at least get through the day without my concealer and foundation sinking into my fine lines. But alas, that didn’t happen. I can say, though, that I have noticed a slight difference in my skin since I’ve started using the No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer. My skin feels a bit softer and looks smoother and more luminous. So that’s a plus.

Bottom line: Although the It Cosmetics No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Primer is nicely hydrating I don’t think it works too well as a primer. I do recommend it if you’re looking for a good hydrating serum, though. However, I wouldn’t repurchase it.

Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Face Serum

Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Face Serum

I know some of you are thinking, “What the heck is she doing with a wrinkle serum?” Listen, I’m not 21 anymore! I’m not even 25 anymore. ? My skin is changing as I get older and that includes the addition of annoying fine lines like the ones under my eyes and around my mouth. I know these fine lines are inevitable as they come naturally from smiling and such but that doesn’t make them any less problematic. In fact, I’ve made it my life’s mission to stop them ruining good makeup by adding great serums to my arsenal like the Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Face Serum. The Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum is formulated with potent neuropeptides and hyaluronic acid to address the most stubborn of wrinkles and fines lines. And by golly, Batman, I think he’s done it!

I’ve been using the Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum morning and night for months now and I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my skin. My fine lines are much less noticeable to the point that you can only see them when I’m smiling. Talk about progress! I’ve also seen a difference in the texture of my skin since using the Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum. My skin feels much softer and a lot smoother. I didn’t really realize how much the PTR Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum transformed my skin until I started comparing older selfies to more recent ones. My skin looks airbrushed now and the Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum definitely played a part!

Bottom line: The Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum is a must have! Whether you’re just experiencing those first signs of aging or you’re ready to banish your wrinkles for good, the Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum is definitely worth a try! I would absolutely repurchase.

Prada Candy Eau de Parfum

Prada Candy Eau de Parfum

If I had to choose just one perfume to use for the rest of my life Prada Candy would be the one. For years, Prada Candy has been my go to scent for every season. Prada Candy has a soft, sweet yet sensual, musky scent with heavy notes of amber and vanilla. I love that it’s flirty and sexy enough to pull off in the summer and spring and yet still has that deep, mysterious musky vibe that makes it perfect for fall and winter too. When I first got my hands on Prada Candy, I used to wear it alone but now I like to mix it with other perfumes to customize my scent and help Prada Candy pop a little more. One of my favorite perfumes to mix it with is ARI by Ariana Grande. They smell so amazing together!

Bottom line: I absolutely love this perfume and recommend it to anyone who likes sweet vanilla or amber based fragrances. I’ve already repurchased!

Clinique All About Eyes Eye Cream

Clinique All About Eyes

Dry eyes are a pain in the ass when you’re a makeup lover! For years, I’ve struggled with my concealer tragically creasing into my fine lines from the second I apply it. Or worse. Looking dry, cakey and patchy after setting it with a powder to prevent creasing. The struggle! I knew I needed a good eye cream and have tried several but none of them has worked quite like Clinique’s All About Eyes. The Clinique All About Eyes cream is a lightweight formula that’s very hydrating and absorbs quickly. Meaning it works like a charm to quench desert dry eyes in a pinch without fear of your concealer sliding all over the place afterwards. For months, I used All About Eyes and it’s made a huge difference. Don’t get me wrong, I still have those annoying fine lines under my eyes. * insert eye roll emoji * However, I’ve noticed that my fine lines aren’t quite as deep as they used to be and they don’t eat up nearly as much concealer as they used to. My eyes also don’t look dry, cracked and parched anymore either. Instead, they just look bright, clear, smooth and awake. Win!

Bottom line: I highly recommend trying Clinique All About Eyes! It’s a miracle cream for wrinkles, fine lines, dryness, puffiness and dark circles. Can’t beat that! I would absolutely repurchase.

Bare Minerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion

Bare Minerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion

Yup, another serum! After trying a sample size of the new Bare Minerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion I was so impressed that I had to buy the full size. The Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion is pretty much a serum with a very lightweight lotion texture formulated with ginger extract, California Poppy and more to keep skin looking youthful, plump and dewy. I was instantly hooked the first time I tried the Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion because it’s super moisturizing and gives my skin a nice radiant glow. Since I started using the Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion I’ve noticed that my skin looks brighter and more even. I also noticed that my skin held on to moisture more efficiently resulting in my skin (and makeup) looking great even after the longest of days.

Bottom line: I think the Bare Minerals Skin Longevity Vital Power Infusion is a great serum for beginners or those without major skin concerns. It tackles the basics (moisture and antioxidant benefits) and does actually improve the texture and appearance of skin. I would probably repurchase this to use with other serums.
